Hey geeks!

I'm calling Monday to set up my L&P course, I'll be taking the "Beginners" that provides the basics in anatomy etc. For those not in the know: I have m DEP in cosmetology but it's 21yrs old. Plus a basic UV Gel course, plus a course in Gel-resine (aka tip-n-dip).
I'm already an established tech in UV Gel for the last 4.5yrs, plus 15 or so years experience with gel-resine.

I'm taking the beginners to refresh my 'basics' knowledge and bring it up to date, as opposed to taking the L&P for established techs.
(this course here: http://www.francelecuyer.com/english/images/pdf/complet_anail_acry2 doc.pdf )
Also, to perhaps correct any techniques that I've adopted that are 'wrong' or that were taught to me 'wrong'.... if that makes sense.

My question is this: should I bother signing on for the Avanced L&P course, immediately to follow the Beginners?
(this one: http://www.francelecuyer.com/english/images/pdf/acrylic-advance 2 doc.pdf )
It covers: sculpting, repairing a chipped nail with a form, designs with coloured L&P, and troubleshooting.....

My thoughts are that I know how to sculpt and repair with UV gel, and as for the designs... I already know how, I've read soooooooooooooo much... it'll just be about putting it into practice and using the tuts found here and elsewhere.

The only thing I see of use in that 2nd course is the troubleshooting of L&P... but am thinking I'd be better off scheduling a one-2-one, a month or so later strictly for that? Would cost less....

BUT then... I get back to the diploma dilemma...

What are your thoughts on this?

THANKS!!

I think do the Beginners course before you decide which other courses you are going to take, if any. Perhaps have a chat with the educator and ask their thoughts.

That would be my opinion too. Wait and see how you get on before committing

Yes, I'd agree. Wait and see how you feel after the course and having a practice. A one to one might be better to specifically address any issues you have. xx

Okey dokey, I'll do as you all suggest; wait and see.

THANKS!

So... now to count the hours until I can call Monday morning.. and then I'll be counting the hours until the next session begins..
Which, at the school, usually means until they have enough people .
Since I want it in English...... I might wind up waiting a while.

THE BRIGHT SIDE IS...

I'M FINALLY GOING TO DO IT:!::!::!:

watch out L&P, here I come!!

Yay!!!! Good luck! x

Wait and see how you get on with the first course and I hope you don't have to kick your heels for too long. You've been wanting l&p training for a long time, so the very best of luck!

Good luck Victoria!! it will be great to hear how you get on although I am sure you will take to it like a duck to water. xxx

THANKS!!

I'm soooooooooooo itching... now it's 10:38am... a tad less than 24hrs from now, I'll be on the horn scheduling/signing up for my course.

WAAAAAAHHOOOOO

I've waited so long... battled the budget for what seems to be ages...
And now... FINALLY I'm in a place I can afford it.
Ok, it'll be a very tight squeeze BUT it's doable..
AND it means all that much sooner, I'll be able to add more to my menu and attrack more clients and offer existing ones new art (for which I'll charge:lol:) and make my investment back.:green:

As soon as it's done... I have a new flyer I'm working on, for advertising... Can't wait to get it out there!!
Make those NSS crap in their pants

I've already been going over technique in my head, rereading some theory that I have (thanks Gigi:green:) and the one thing that spooks me most is 'ratio' UGHHHH that's going to be a pita...
But I'll crack it.

THANKS everyone
