I was just reading on the hooked on nails website and if I have read it right...it talks about applying tips using acrylic...and not adhesive....i've never heard of this before...has anyone else?

Indeed, Vicky Peters also recommends this to tip a ski-jump nail, as it makes it possible to stick the tip with a slight angle as a workaround for the ski-jump nail.

Cheers for that little tip, i will be trying that one on my sister,
her nails are badly ski jumped

I tried it once as I had forgotten my adhesive...I failed big time and ended up running home for my adhesive

im confused.....would you not file it all off anyway when blending the tips or are you talking about using with tips that you dont blend??
Sorry if being a bit dumb

was thinking this to sian ...i read it and wouldn't think so as it is under the tip and when your laying L&P it should be sealed..thats the general idea anyway...never tried it ..but wouldn't mind giving it a go.

Gelbond is perfect for this

my first thought was...would it stick properly as the back of the tip is shiney? iykwim

this idea is from yonks ago.
we used to do this way back when .......( i feel like a nail nanna)
actually, there were tips that had holes in the well (which the acrylic would squeeze out like little worms)
this is the same way Popits adhere to the nail surface

Trust me no amount of gel bond will disguise the ski jump on my sisters nails,
planes could take off from her free edge lol
its from 40 years of abusive nail biting.
