Sorry if I am bombarding the forum with questions. I am bored!!!:irked:

I want to open another business and still umming and arring over which way to go. Sunbeds are now out the question so time for plan B:grr:....... I want to offer more than the usual beauty treatments as I want to do something different after ten years in the industry!

Looking at the next 'big thing' so trying to see where to invest my money. I have seen some stuff on this Laser Lipo.

Has anyone else come across it?

Do you reckon it works the same as say slendertone?

I havnt yet called them so dont know the prices of the machine or the cost per treatment to clients.

As its laser do you reckon it will require HCC registration?

Do you reckon lasers are safe? In the 80's sunbed tanning was safe and now its full of health care warnings, along with drinking, smoking and taking vitamins!!!

I am just wondering how long it will be before theres health scares with laser use!

What are your views?

Ive never heard of lipo in a salon before do you know what if it was defo safe I would go for it you know!!

If I was going to have liposuction I would be a lot more likely to go for the laser option. Didn't know there even was such a thing!! hth x

Hiya... I could be completely and utterly wrong but I think that you would only be able to offer this if you were a plastic surgeon of sorts (my apologies if you are already a practitioner in that area)

I have heard of Laser Lipo making it's way over from the pond... And I must say it sounds fabulous... No or less scarring\bruising and recovery time of a couple of days, I've also heard that it will cost thousands (like normal lipo) ... IMO and I mean no offence by this whatsoever, but personally if I was going to go down the lipo route, I would wanna go to one of those Harley Street clinics rather than a salon... A treatment like that has major risks involved... I'd wanna top of the range surgeon to take the risk :)

Its non invasive, from what it looks like it works in the same way as slendertone. You apply pads to the area and leave the client for ten mins then move the pads again.

In my opinion I cant see it being a) as affective as Lipo or b) lasting as long.

Real Lipo sucks out fat cells which I believe we are all born with and that once removed cannot come back. (I read this somewhere on a cosmetic surgeons site!). Although I hasten to say didnt britney spears and geri halliwell have this done and they have put weight back on!

I would never do any surgery unqualified (although I wish I could train it - god all that cash and free ****s!). I wouldnt even consider doing hylauronic acid injections and would certainly like many things leave it to drs/nurses to perform.

Hope I am allowed to put this website up, if not I am sorry.

Visit Laser Lipo the before and after pics are not that great tbh but then I suppose it makes it more realistic.

Lazer Lipo is not like Slendertone or any other inch loss system that uses externally applied pads linked to a machine that delivers micro currents to stimulate the muscle into contraction.....

Lazer Lipo requiers a local anesthetic and uses a fine cannula to deliver a safe, powerful laser to heat fat cells, causing them to break down.

LipoLaser SmartLipo - Information

This treatment should only be offered by medically qualified staff........

If you are looking for inch loss systems then try CACI or Arasys, these are non invasive.

That link makes interesting reading.....
So its not Lazer as such but cold lazer applied with pads......
You had us scared there for a minute..............

haha sorry about that!

God if it was real lipo I'd be dangerous with that! Not to my clients but to me! I'd be sucking every inch of fat out of my own body in between clients lol!!!!

I reckon they will have to change the name of it though because it does sound confusing. I know Caci can't say their microcurrant machine is a non surgical face lift anymore.

Mind you I am sure it wont be long before freelance doctors come into our salons to perform minor surgery!

Kate (a beautician by trade not a surgeon lol!)

ooohhh that treatment you linked to looks good lol!

I was going for traditional Lipo myself this year so going to give that ago instead.

That treatment looks a lot better than the one I mentioned, depends i suppose on overall costs and results!

Thanks

Ahhhhhh I see!! I'm with you now.. Wow, didn't know they did a pad type thing!! I thought you were gonna be jabbing people and allsorts hehehehe...

Hmmm... Pad sounds like a nice comfy option, biut personally I'm always sceptical about the slendertone style things... I think they take such a minimal amount off you might as well just run round the block every day and you'll get better results for free... Having said that, there may be a huge calling for this client wise... I was thinking myself of compiling a very small questionnaire to hand out detailing lots of treatments to see what will be most popular to provide, I'm only just starting out in the beauty industry and although I want to do every course under the sun I have a limited budget and only so many hours in the day, so thought that might me a good idea so that I start off training in what I'll be in demand for the most... Perhaps something like that might be an idea to see how much interest you generate? I guess it is also something clients will come back for time and time again if the results are clear to see :)

As for the surgical laser lipo.. I've had a quick gander on google and it looks fab!! I want it NOW!!

Haha a few runs round a block is too much like hard work!!!

I go for the easy option every time.... Me and most other women.

I have been qualified ten years and still cant really judge client trends. Every area is different.

I reckon if I was going to get a laser treatment in my salon I would perhaps go for hair removal first as that seems far more popular at present.

I will presume that machine is £30k ish and probably requires HCC Registration as well as I think all lasers come under this catergory.

Maybe we should all chip in for the surgical one and do each other lol!!!

There is Laser Lipo and Smart Lipo. I think that Laser Lipo is completely non-invasive and is pad placed on the skin, whereas Smart Lipo uses a canula under local anaesthetic. I am due to get Laser Lipo in my place in the next 2 weeks. Will let you know how it goes!

Just wondered how things were going with Laser Lipo, I am thinking about investing too

any idea of the sort of price range it would be? i think for people who work out loads but cant get rid of the last bit of fat no matter what, this would be good, depending on cost/results/longevity of results.

Does anyone know anyone who's had this?

Anyone know of Freelance therapists that actually do this in salons?

ditto divalou..............anyone?

I have been asked If I'd like to try this from a friends girlfriend as she has just trained in it at the cost of £295 for 6 20 min sessions but don't know much about it and was wondering how it was done and if its safe etc?
