My college used bog standard lash enhancement products which came off after a few hours.

For professional use, what do you recommend for the following?

a. Eyelashes
b. Adhesive, solvents etc...

Based on your choice, how long should I expect the lash enhancements to last?

Thanks. I would appreciate your suggestions/recommendations. xx

(and I still prob cant spell it!!)

I was trained with and still use Nouveau Lashes, I find there products excellent quality and think there reputation speaks for itself. I trained in Nails at CND with Diane Plummer and given that she is now a trainer for Nouveau I think that also speaks volumes!

Technically speaking they ought to last around 6 weeks before rebalancing or infilling them, a certain amount of lashes will fall out with the natural hair cycle but if (and thats a big if) the client sticks to the aftercare the infilling just ought to be a case of replacing the the ones that came out in the natural cycle.

As with nails lashes take an amount of getting used to for the wearer, lash curlers and eye rubbing are banned as is oily make up remover!

There is alot of companies jumping on the lash bandwagon I think, but you need a quality products with alot of research having gone into them (with it being products going near the eye) which is why I would only buy products from a supplier with an excellent reputation in that particular treatment, hence my choosing Nouveau as I had heard only good things and spent time researching into Karen Betts, Nouveau and spent time watching her perform at Gmex a few years ago. At the same time I also visited a stand from another lash brand I had heard of vaguely and they were more competative price wise, as I queued up to enquire about training I was stunned to see the queue was full of people complaining about there training and products not lasting!! I made my mind up there and then to stick with quality reputation!

Thanks tonilee. Can I clarify something please? Did you train in semi permanent lashes or are you referring to the strip or individual lashes which are applied for special occasions eg. Weddings?

At college we covered individual or strip lash enhancements which are applied with adhesive and removed with solvent or left to drop out.

Do you mean the the cheaper brands don't look as real and they don't stay on as long? xxx

Ah Mrs C I was indeed referring to the semi perm individual lashes!!! Were you not? Oh lord confusion!!

Kimmi, I've only heard that the cheaper brands only last a couple of days ie. the ones you can purchase out of the more well known salon catalogues.

PMSL tonilee. I think I have confused my self :D.

Let me explain. There are false lashes which one can have applied (almost like hair extensions which blend in with the lash itself and last for a couple of months. They are fairly expensive, like a couple hundred ££. This is what I call semi permanent and I believe the courses are very expensive.

Then there are the ones eg. Salon System, Ellisons etc..... where you apply at the base of the natural lash (either single or a full lash line) with adhesive. I believe they can last anything from a couple of days to a week (Don't know if they last longer??) for special occasions like a prom or wedding. These are the ones I am referring to in my initial post. Is this clearer, lol?

Hi I am new to the site but I get a lot of client for eyelash extensions.
I have trained in the Hollywood lashes as well as doin the lashes we got taught at college.

I think it's personal preference really. I love the lashes you are talking about as they are great for that one off night out, party, prom etc.
I use the glue etc that you can get from any of the well known suppliers and have no problem but a few of the girls i trained with don't use them, as they have had compliants in the past about them falling off.
I do tell clients that these are a quick fix for that one off special occaision that they will last for a few days but if they rub, pick etc they will come off.
Some of my younger clients want lots have that real glamour girl look but I just use a bit more glue.

Sometimes you need to be clear and tell the client these are meant for that special occaision and will not last prob any more than a few days. (although a few of my regulars have theres done on the fri and still have most of them on following friday when they come in again).

If you have clients who want lashes that will last that bit longer then defo look into the Hollywood lashes or any of the other brands. These CAN last up to 3 month (infill required). I deal for holidays, brides and even just those who love looking great all the time.

This prob hasn't answered your question but I love doin lashes and just felt the need to say Hi to you all.

i use salon systems lashes. and the glue, hich you can get n black and clear. they are only mean to stay on a few days, but normally last about 2 weeks. i have alot of brides saying they lasted right through the honeymoon aswell.

some of it is down to application aswell, i try and fit the bulb of the cluster in between the lashes, rather than on top of the lash line, if that makes sense. Then i kind of press them with my weezers to make sure they are 'wedged' in.

Confused!!

Ok, there are the ones that I call Weekend Lashes which can be bought from salon wholesalers and cost about £15 a set to have applied in a salon, and there are the Lash Extensions that cost around £80 a set in a slon and last for a number of weeks. xx

Cluster lash / "individual lashes" - last up to around 10 days

Eyelash_Extension.summ.jpg
Single lash / "lash extensions" - last up to 3 months with maintenance

Aha got ya Mrs C!! I was referring to the wrong sort!!!

Hi Ladies,
I recently started using the single lash extensions by "Marvel Lash". I was told they last for up to 8 weeks but would need infills after around 2-3 weeks. I have found that the majority only last a week at most and have spoken to Salon System (the training School) about this, they have said that I can get further training but my feeling is that actually I have been mis sold the product. I have been a therapist for years and resent the implication. If I am not up to standard why did they issue me a certificate to say I was.
Have any of you guys used this system and appx. how long do they last?
All info much appreciated.
Amanda
