Hi All

I'm new to Salon Geek - great place for the best info!!

OK, here goes. I'm thinking pretty seriously about doing some training in semi-permanent lashes - probably Nouveau Lashes. Can anyone give me some advice on whether this is a popular treatment or not, recommendations on the best system to use - Nouveau, X-Treme, Hollywood, Flirties, etc? Also, if there are any trainers out there, can you please advise if lashes can also be applied to the bottom lashes? A therapist on the Xtreme Lashes stand at Olympia told me that absolutely they can, but probably because she was trying to sell her product to me - personally I can't see how you can but of course I may be wrong!

Any advice very gratefully received xx

Jen

I trained with Nouveau lashes myself after spending a lot of time researching and watching Karen Betts in work at Gmex a few years ago. She is a total expert and is truly inspiring to watch. Diane Plummer who trained me in CND nails now trains for them which to me speak volumes about the level of the training course. The products are high quality and updated all the time in line with different trend and fashions. They held a lash seminar this summer which I missed but it looked fantastic!

The procedure itself is fairly popular, but very fiddley you need lots of patience and a very good eye for detail. Its not just about adding lashes its adding them for different looks, volume, length or even colour for party lashes!! Many of my clients are more mature ladies who want fuller lashes and very natural looking.
You can enhance the lower lashes, its very difficult though as you have to do it with the eye open  pointy tweezers and open eyes, yeek I am pretty competant but wouldnt fancy doing lowers!! Thankfully have never been asked too!!

Hope all that helps please dont hesitate to pm me if you would like to know any more chuck
PS Warmest welcome to geekdom!!!

Thanks Toni. Anyone have any experience of XTreme Lashes (quality of product in comparison to others, price of training, kits, etc)?

Thanks!

Hi Jenny and welcome :O)

If you have narrowed it down why dont you give the different companies a call and see if you can find out more information or if they can send you some details on their starter packs and training so you can compare and see what is the best for you?

hi jenny

im a trainer for lash fx, to be honest most of the training is much of a much its all about practising, im based in hertfordshire and have a huge clientele mainly brides and people going out i love doing them. Our selling point above the others the same as lash perfect is our glue its got a paitent on it and doesnt irritate and gives a great finish its probably the best ive worked with and ive worked with loads if you need anymore information im always happy to help

hey!
i trained with a h francis for my lash extentions and they told me that u cant put lashes on the bottom lashes!! i would think that if you can it would be really hard as its a fiddly job anyway! i have heard that the training is all pretty much the same you just have to practice lots!! xx

hi all i was going to bring lashes in but I figured most of it would be practise plus i didnt know if i would have the patience so i bought a cheap kit of the net and done my own. when i rubbed my eyes i could feel the glue and it was annoying and slightly sore, they lasted 5 days before i took them out. what i want to know before i invest in a kit and trainnig, is, is this the way they feel? plus the lashes i had were cheap, and felt thick and plasticy, do they all?

hi im doing a 3d lashes course with h francis ,it looks really amazing and i think it just takes pratice and a steady hand  and a lot of patience ,but the end results do look amazing dont know how much i would charge though as i think 60-90 pounds is quite a lot to ask but if the job is done probably and they stay on for the recommended time i think it will be worth doing ,just to get clients convinced and im sure it will be gr8 ,im really looking forward to giving this treatment

Some one will I'm sure correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that eyelashes have a total lifespan of approx 3 months, by which time, if you'd applied a set of 'fabbo' lashes, they would look quite patchy and pants!?
So, as it's an expensive initial layout to the client, what are the 'infill' cost like??
Is it worth trying, or would you have a better result using Jica Lash?

hey!
we used to charge £80 for a full set which does seem alot but a full set can take up to 2 hours!! so its alot of your time! it does take alot of practice to be good at them i must admit! they can last up to 3 months but they are a bit like nail extentions you have to maintain them every 3 or 4 weeks! hope your training goes well and you enjoy it!! xx

hi i think if you get the ladies interested it will take off as we all know about word of mouth:hug: its just the cost that bothers me but im sure if the client see the time and effort we put in doing this treatment im sure it will be worth it ,and it all depends on where you are too i think, nobody round about me does the 3d lashes so hopefully il get in there with a blast :)

I use Xtreme Lashes. If you do a search on here for Xtreme, I've posted the same reply a number of times in different threads!!

I love them. Definitely a demand for it, and because of the area I live in, I charge £180 a full set, and people pay.

Unlike a lot of other companies, Xtreme won't certify you straight away. They make sure that you're competent by way of submitting before / after pics and attending an assessment day, which I think is the best way of doing it.

What is the difference between ah francis 3d lashes and nouveau lashes?

They are simply different brands there are quite a few. Hollywoods, lash perfect . I have 8 lash techs across three sites and have used them all over the past three years.

I began to use lash out lashes an australian brand last year and we all loved them so much we bought the company - no really we bought the uk rights .

Up to now we are only selling to limited stockists . Here is the the link to our website - this is are client facing website -see what you think
www.lashoutlashesuk.com

We will be tranining and supplying to selected salons soon.

Good luck in your lashing xx
