Lash tint - how often is it safe to repeat?

I always recommend my clients that a lash tint will last 4 - 6 weeks but I've got a lady who wants to have one this week & then re-book for 2 1/2 weeks after that.

Is that ok? (never done it that close b4 & am just wondering if the recommended 4/6 wks thing is just because that's how long it usually lasts or if it is actually not safe to do it more often).

I would think it would be fine, all though i think they will still be quite dark, and as long as you tell her that you would normally recommend 4-6 weeks.

if she likes them to last and to be very dark .. i mix black and blue black together, they look really nice and very dark....

hi a beauty therapist i went to once for an eyelash tint told me she had a bloke go in once a week without fail, because he wanted his eyelashes as dark as pos. even though she always told him this is as dark as it gets he still wouldnt have it.

i would have thought being a professional she wouldnt have entertained it if not safe hth

I think also that although we are told every four to six weeks, the actual lash cycle could be shorter than that (lashes falling out before we return for another tint) so when she returns you may find that there is no remaining tint on them anyway. x x

I have a couple of regulars that come in every 2 weeks for eyelash/brow tints as they like them to look as black as possible. I've never had any problems with it at all, and when I checked with the manufacturers of my product, they also told me there was no problem. HTH xx

I've had mine done with a 3 week gap in between in the past; as long as you're not having them done every day then I can't see it being a problem.

I have a male client come to me every 2 weeks. Been doing it for 2 yrs now and not a problem. I think the only time i would worry is if they were were doing this for a while and wanting a perm a short time after as the tint does break down the hair and make it weaker.xxx

Personally I would not recommend tinting at such close intervals on a long term basis. I think it would be okay as a one off but urge caution as a regular thing.

In college I was tinted twice in a two week period and it shortened my lashes on the one eye because I think the ends kind of burnt off from the peroxide. Took ages to get them back to normal.

i'm impressed that a few of you have guys coming in for ELTs. What colour do you recommend for guys? I really what to do my boyfriend's and i'm guessing that 'natural brown' would be best for him. He's a real bloke, so I don't want him to look gay!

Well I always go for a mix of black and blue/black myself and no-one notices it when I'm in "boy" mode (they haven't said so anyway)... I love having my lashes jet black...
