Hi peeps. I did my eyelash extension training about a month ago with marvel lash and it was quite a good wee day. I have nothing else to compare with so I think marvel lash are quite acceptable - even just for the minute until I properly get to grips with it. Then I'm gonna start using flirties as the have a good marketing range and a wider variety of lashes.

Anyway, I find that I'm really loving doing the treatment. The first 15 mins or so, it's fiddly enough but once I get unto my stride I really enjoy it and clients feel very relaxed. So we were told on the course that a treatment for a beginner can take up to 2.5-3 hours. I'm now getting a full set done in about an hour and a half/hour and 45 mins. I swear I'm getting all the individual lashes I can. Am I doing it too quickly? Is there something I'm missing? How do u guys carry out the treatment?

Depends how many lashes you are applying for a full set. I've known people do 50 lashes per eye and call it a full set.
I do round about 40ish for a half set and around 70 for a full set and 80+ for a glamour set.
How many lashes are you applying per eye?

How do you keep count of how many you do? I have got quicker now but still take too long as I find I just don't know when to stop....become OCD on glueing to everything I can find to glue to....lol.
I have to stop doing this and start charging differently so would like to know how you do keep count.
thanks.

I charge £45 for a natural set, £75 for a full set and £90 for a glamour set.
I don't religiously count, i just know roughly how many i have put on. I usually put 10 on each eye, then start back and put a lash in between those 10 and then put another row inbetween the 20 that are now on, so it's roughly 40 lashes per eye for a natural set. For a full set i just keep going and then you can more or less have a rough idea of how many you have put on :)

Thanks for that. Do you always find your client has enough of her own lashes for a glamour set? I've never done any counting so not sure how many lashes ladies have on average.
Do you limit your top ups to a certain number of lashes or to a time?

Yes they've all had enough for a glamour set. You can get over 100 lashes per eye.
For infills, i charge by time. Someone can come back after 3 weeks with hardly any lashes left (if they haven't looked after them properly), and some can come back with hardly any lashes lost. It makes more sense to charge by time. It's my time that's important to me so i charge accordingly.

I love, love, love this forum!!!...... Angelina thank you so much for your advice, its so hard when you are starting out to know how many to apply / how much to charge etc etc

I was just going with a standard £60 a set option (still havent worked up to this, started at £20 for friends and am charging £40 a set now), but your way is much better, then you dont get people being fussy and keep asking for 'just a few more' ....

How much do you charge per hour for the infills ... I was going to go with £10 a week ... and see how they go, but keep promising people that I will do 3 weeks for £20, perhaps I should say. Its an hour and its £20, if they want more lashes it will cost them? ... its so hard when it is friends (or friends of friends) but I wont make any money if I keep doing mates rates.

p.s. I have just passed all my case studies and completed my Flirties training ... I did it with Layla in Essex and she was FAB!

p.p.s when I first started it was taking me 3hrs a set, I am doing it in 2 now. I would never have got a full set in in 1.5hrs ... but maybe your just very good! ...if the lashes are lasting and people are happy with them I am sure you are doing it right! :)

thanks Geeks!! xx
