Hi Geeks,

I've not been applying the semi permanent lashes for all that long (did my training at the start of February) but am really concerned and was hoping you guys on here might be able to help?

I've so far done 6 clients.

Now 4of them seem fine.

The other two however, the lashes just don't seem to be lasting any time at all!

My first client came back after 2 weeks for infills and had lost maybe a third of the originals, so far, she hasn't been back again!!

My second client only had them done a week last Saturday and is due in tomorrow for her first infills but 10 days seems like a really short time?!?!?

I'm really worried about this as obviously I don't want to tarnish my reputation or give a rubbish service so this Saturday I did a full set on a friend of mine and have asked her to keep a 'lash diary' but obviously everyone is different.

I've tried my own 'trouble shooting' so I know that if the lash isn't fitted properly (i.e. with gaps, or at an angle) then it's not going to last, also that if the client's lashes aren't properly cleaned, that prevents adherance. I also know that some clients lashes shed quicker than others and that some clients can be quite rough with thier eyes but what else might be the cause?

I had some in myself (done at a different salon) so I could experience the treatment and mine stayed in for 4 weeks until I pulled them all out?!?

Naturally I'm worried about this and as I'm also quite a new business, as you can see, have gone into total panic mode, any help wouold be gratefully appreciated...

As you said yourself, everyone's lashes are different. Have they used waterproof mascara or used the wrong eye make-up remover?

I would talk to your trainer for some advice.

If they have used any face wash, wipes, creams, cream make up, eyeliners pencil or liquid these mostly contain oils,
any product which contains an oil will slowly destroy the bond, hth

The first thing I would go back to is - preparation. It is important to still cleanse the eyelashes with oil free make-up remover (even if they look super clean as there might be an invisible layer of oil/cream etc.) Then ofcourse, make sure the primer is applied properly on all eyelashes from root to tip (but not touching the skin). During the procedure - so you use enough adhesive? Also sometimes lash techs touch individual lashes with fingers (e.g. while removing from packaging or adjusting them on a lash holder etc.) this way making eyelashes oily... But then again - it might be something that clients do - are they avoiding water on lashes for first 24 hours? What products they use and how they use them etc. Hope this helps :)

Thanks for your replies and encouragement, turns out it was a false panic on my part, the client was going on hols tomorrow for 2 weeks so wanted to make sure lashes were in tip top condition, nothing wrong with the original set and she still had most of them in! :D

Thanks again though x x
