Ive been doing a mates nails, and just lately she has had terible probs with lifting (almost as soon as the next day). She wears latex gloves to do tanning treatments alot of the time just lately, and was wondering whether this could be the cause????

i do a thorough prep etc, but this prob is still occuring. Yet I dont have any probs with other clients at all.

any ideas.............................

Are you doing L&P or gel?

I've got a gel client who is a dentist, she wears latex gloves all day every day and she's my best client for lifting. After 2 weeks they looked absolutely perfect.

hiya

she has L & P. as i said this is the only one its happening too, all my other clients dont have lifting. all i could think of was the gloves

I wear latex gloves when I'm tanning and never have problems with lifting, although I'm not wearing them all day every day so you could be right.
Is this a new client? If not, is it a recent problem? Does she have overly oily nails to start with? Sorry can't help more xx

I would have thought that the gloves would have actually protected her nails rather than making them more prone to lifting.

Does she usually have them on, or is this quite a new thing for her? Have you made sure it really lifting or could she be helping them in anyway (have you actually seen her nails since)?

Hi clare

Is this a new client? If not, is it a recent problem?no shes not a new client, but this has only just started to happen since about 2 weeks before xmas

Does she have overly oily nails to start with? Not at all...its really stumped me. When i do my prep, im thorough, and Ive even double preppep, but still the problem keeps occuring

any more offers...........................

Perhaps she has sweaty hands inside the gloves, or because she has the so called protection of the gloves, she is using her hands more roughly?

Both these scenarios could aid lifting problems. In any case, if she thinks the problem may be the gloves then I would suggest she stops wearing them! Only way to test the theory and find out isn't it?

Could she be pregnant????

Could she be pregnant????

It is a Myth tht pregnancy causes lifting, especially if the technician is using quality products and has the experience that Glynnis does and has.

A myth is a myth regardless of what experience you have or what products you use.

I was told this AGAIN on a course I did last year and have experienced it with pregnant clients of my own. That is why I suggested it.

Glad to know I woun't have these issues when I have completed my CND conversion.

many people really perspire in gloves, this can sometimes cause a build up of moisture ...... which causes swelling of the natural nail, then drying out (shrinking of the natural nail) up and down, up and down, in and out, in and out.

Lashings of cuticle oil may help, this is kinda like hairdressers nails .... a gel topcoat to seal them may also help, as can a pair of cotton gloves before the latex gloves.
