Layering Shellac ??

When layering shellac, dok you do one coat of each color? Or 2 of one and 1 of another?
Does putting more than a base, 2 color coats and a top coat pose a risk of shellac not wearing like it is supposed to?

If you get good coverage with one coat of the first color, then go to your next color. If your first coat is patchy, then do a thin coat of the first color, then move to the second color. HTH!

If you have to do three THIN color coats, it will not effect the wearability of Shellac.
