Hi
Why is it when I do coloured overlays after curing for 3 mins does the gel slide off when wiping off sticky residue.
Do I have to cure for longer, only I only have a 9 watt lamp and I seem to be waiting between coats for ages.
Help please. Also how many coats of the coloured gel do you need.
Also have just received the top coat with the red lid, how do you use that do you have to cure it, if so for how long.
Can you tell I have only just started using Lechat.
Thanks
Becky

can you explain what you mean by 'sliding off'.

is it all the gel you have applied ?

Not all of it no just some is sliding off and then they look pale and patchy.

have you followed the tutorial on my blogspot ?

or maybe you can tell me what your method is.

How is it you were able to buy Le Chat products without taking a class??? Surely with a class you would know the answers to all the questions you are asking?

Method is file nails, remove dead cuticle, etch the surface, cleanse, nail pure plus, bond, one thin layer of clear gel, curing for 2mins cleanse, two layers of coloured, curing for 3 mins each, cleanse and one layer of clear curing for 3 mins.
Thanks

so when you wipe off the shine, are you doing that on the final coat only ?

and the gel that comes off when you wipe , is that coloured ?

and are you remembering to stir your colour gels before use?

i really want to try and help with this, but i fly off to ukraine very shortly and might not be able to get on line for a while.

I was advised not to cleanse at all in between coats. Only cleanse after the final application of clear. This did help a lot!

Hi thanks for your replies, I was wiping after the first clear coat and last colour coat and was getting some colour on my wipe.
So do I only cleanse on the last clear coat at the end then!
Yes I do stir the gels.
Thanks
Becky

if colour is coming off after curing the final clear coat, then its not curing properly. or it could be that the colour has not been fully coated with clear.

if it is a substantial amount of colour and not just a little smear where you may have not coated a bit at the edge for instance, then you are not getting a proper cure and its time to start investigating the lamp.

You should only wipe after last clear gel application.

I had the same problem as you when I started using the Lechat coloured, but Angel Fingers advised me to only wipe after last clear gel and its fine now. I thought the coloured gel would get on my clear gel brush but it doesnt!!

Hi, sorry this is a little after it was posted, but hope it helps some...

I have just spoken to the head office of Lechat and they say to do the following when applying a coloured gel:

1. prep nails at appropiate then...
2. One coat of clear cure 30secs. Do not spray and wipe
3. One thin coat of colour to grab to the sticky clear coat then go over again with a thicker coat. One coat of colour is all you should need. Cure this for 3 mins. Do not spray and wipe.
4. Apply the top coat sealer (red bottle).Cure for 3 mins. Now you can spray and wipe!
5. you're done!

You dont have to wipe the top coat sealer if you use Protech over the top but you can only use Protech on feet as it cracks on hands.

When it comes to an infill with the same colour or similar, file down a little (or it will become too thick) apply one coat of chosen colour and cure for 3 mins, do not spray yet then add top coat sealer cure for 3 mins then spray and wipe and you're done.

Hope this helps

Thanks thats great.

Becky
