:idea:My least favourite part about acrylics is buffing. I cannot seem to get the shine on! So, I have been experimenting on my nail today. I work with CND Solar Powder or the Perfect colour with Retention+ monomer. I prep, apply, smooth down (still has scratches) For the finishing touch I apply Brisa Finishing Gloss and Cure! SHINE! (It fills in all the nicks; no worries on having 'pot holes' and scratches. I find with just buffing I have a problem with that)
Tell me your methods to get a smooth pefected suface and shine:!:

I use NSI Glaze 'n' Go! No buffing up for shine!! Just put on glaze 'n' Go, Cure, and ...... Voila beautiful shiny nails!! And no armache!!!

Maybe you are using files that are too rough when you are finishing.

I find that Creative nails are so soft and smooth that I do not have to use rough files to finish. In fact I never use anything rougher that 180/240.

I do a final finish with a block and then use CND Super Shiney or my new favourite Air Dry also by CND.. I adore this product. It dries in a flash and is very protective and shiny too.

If you haven't yet tried it I would highly recommend it. Dries faster than Out The Door and no yellowing.

I have used 180 grit at the most and then the finer buffers too after. I have used the speedy top coat and I find that the polish absorbs into the acrylic and has a 'dull grainy shine'

Speedy is a thin fast drying top coat which is recommended to be used over other top coats for fast drying ONLY.

Speedy is not a polish protector nor has it a high shine on its own ... ONLY a fast drier. YOu are using the wrong product if you want High shine.

CND Air Dry will deliver both for you .. fast drying and high shine.

I'll try that too. Thanks.

Thanks for the tip Gigi, I'll buy that with my next order! :)
