Hi there,
Just wondered if you need a licence to work from home?
I went down to my local council and asked if needed it and woman told me that unless im not doing tatoos, pierecing and electrolosis, also changing room to much, making food and no one working for you then no i dont need one.
Is this the same for you?
I will be doing massage, aromatherapy, waxing and nails.

It depends who you spoke to at the Council. These issues sound like Environmental Health issues. You will need to check with Planning to see if you need to apply for change of use to business use in the part of the house you are using. There is no general rule of thumb as each Council interprets the rules differently. Some say you don't need it, but mine says you do even if it's used in a room that you also use for other purposes (ie in your sitting room). So you will need to ask your own Council to get the correct answer.

Also be aware that to do it properly you may have to advise your mortgage company and your insurance company too.
