 I know, I know, same old, same old but I really am struggling to know what course I need to do next. I am nearing the end of my VTCT at College where I have been doing tip and silk wrap overlays. I want to do liquid and powder, probably CND and thought I could just go on a conversion course but apparently this is not the case as they are for tech's who can already do l&p but are changing to a different product. What can I do because I don't want to go on a beginners course as I have done all the H & S, preparation of the nail plate, applying tips and removal etc but I can't seem to find a course available that will suit. I seem to be an inbetweenie!! Hope someone can advise and point me in the right direction. Thanks x

Ring Sweet Squared on 0845 210 6060 and do a conversion class as soon as possible and really kick start your career. Then you will be sorted. Easy peasy.

That is a great link and I will definately go for the manufacturers training course but I don't think it has fully answered my question of being an inbetweenie and not needing to start at the bottom but not being able to start in the middle...if this makes sense!

I will call them tomorrow and hopefully I can get started asap because after reading a lot of the posts I will need all the practise I can get!

Thanks for the advice, I will let you know how I get on. x

I would be interested in this as well jellybabe as I have just done Level 2 Beauty Therapy at college which included Extend and Maintain Nails module and we did tips with fibreglass and silk.
I am going on to do Level 3 next year which will teach me l&p and gel but wonder if I should do a nail course in the summer whilst not at college so that I can get started on clients sooner

Hi All I rang Creative and was advised to do skill building, one to one to learn L&P and once mastered I would be allowed to go on the conversion course. The skill building, one to one is £45 per hr plus VAT (min 2 hrs). They could not advise me on how long it would take to learn L&P, I know we all learn at different paces but this would of been helpful to know if I have to budget for £45+ per hr so if anyone has any rough ideas I would be grateful. I am still at a loss as to what course.......do I go with the skill building or maybe do the foundation course, even if I don't need a lot of the things that are taught on it. x x

It is really your call. No one can predict the time it will take you. Weigh up the fact that a Foundation class includes your Professioanl kit at a cost price (not what you would pay for it wholesale).

I also think you will find that you will not spend so much time recovering old ground as you think as the CND course is very different from what you have already done.

You do learn a lot with cnd tbh, I found the conversions/inductions incredibly informative & technique based x

I think that the foundation course now seems the way forward. I didn't realise that it also included the kit and if I won't spend too much time going over what I have already learnt then I feel this is the one for me! I just need to get my finances sorted out then I will be on the next available course. I am soooo glad that I was recommended to this site because you have all given me such great advice. I feel so much better now that I know which direction I am heading - all with a little help from my new found friends. Thank you so much. Can't wait to get going.......xx

You have done your VTCT at college, you have your foundation knowledge... I guess it depends on where your budget takes you after that....I would say skill building....

Creative CND deliver the information differently and factually andit will not do you or anyone any harm at all to hear it again. The fact is that at the end of the course, you will understand how to do ehancements safely and beautifully. Then you will put that information into practise.
