Hello!
I am wondering what will happen if I have a client at natural level 5 and I use 20 volume with level 8? Obviously that developer will not give me enough lift for her to reach a level 8 so what will happen? The scenario I am faced with is having a client with a natural root of 5 about 1.5” and heavy level 9 highlights woven below. She wants to be a dusty copper color. I use goldwell. I am thinking of using 7MB (which sits between green and yellow) to counteract her underlying red pigment and 7G and some 7N and maybe a smidge of copper (my target) and 25 vol in the first 1/2”, 30vol and same formula for the re St of the natural root. I can’t use the same formula on the ends because it will go muddy so I am thinking 7G and 10 vol to fill. Then I will see what kind of lift I get and go back and tone with a demi because we want a more muted shade of copper. I am worried about the ends (the brown parts) not pulling bright enough. What do u guys think? I included photos.

And sorry if the first part is confusing… I was thinking to maybe use 8KN in the formula because I know 8 has less of a dye load than 7 and I don’t want her hair to be overly orange. I wish I had time to do a test strand but I don’t. Doing this later today
