Hi everyone

I qualified with the northern college of beauty and holistics last month in acrylic nail extensions.

I have done about 10 sets since then but Im having problems with lifting. It doesnt happen with every set Ive done. 2 of the sets I done stayed on for 3 weeks and had in fills once and there was no lifting but some Ive done lifted on a couple and 1 girl said hers pinged off the next day which I found strange.

I have been using all products from The Edge. I know on some of them I have got too close to the cuticle so thatl be why for them but the others Im not sure what Ive done wrong.

Any suggestions?

THanks

Lifting can be cause by many things:

As you said, going to near the skin
Product too thick in zone 3
Mix too wet
Mix too dry
Nailplate not prepared thoroughly enough
Moisture on the nailplate (primer or sanitiser should be bone dry)
Oil on the nail plate from the tech or client touching the plate
Improper application techniques

Take your pick if the cap fits ... only you know!

Yeh I go too close to the skin sometimes and Id say I do go too thick sometimes.
I was supplied with a no 6 sable brush in my kit and have been using that.

Is that the right size brush?

Well you can use any size of brush.

I use a very large brush (Creative Ultra Sculptor which is a 10).

I would say though that NO. 8 is the average sort of size for most pros. Sometimes I use the Pro Styler too if I fancy a change -- it is a no 8. But I like a big brush for lots of reasons.
