Okay so I find that with very light nail polishes they take lots and lots of coats. I’ve tried thinning the coats out to layer more, but still, after about 5 coats they can still be a little see through no matter how much I even the colour out with the brush. Some clients don’t want more coats and I get worried it’ll thicken and go horrible.. what shall I do?

Tell the client the polish is very sheer and they will be able to see their natural nail underneath, you can't make a sheer polish opaque without lotscand lots of layers which will chip. If they like the colour but want it not to be see through you'll need to use a base layer of white or a suitable full coverage colour underneath.

I frequently do a complimentary undercoat colour of a cream polish and the add 2 coats of the sheer shimmer over. It can be really stunning.
