Lightening roots

I've only used high lift tints or bleach when lightening roots on blonde hair. My client is a base 7 and I usually tone with 9/8 + 10/8 koleston after lightening the roots. I'm wondering if using the same colours but with 30 volume on roots will achieve the same result or will it throw up gold? Anyone help? X

No it won't produce the same result it will definitely glow orange
