Hi, does anyone know why the chest always seems lighter after a spray tan. my mam always comments on this after i have sprayed her and i always make sure i go over that area twice but she still says the next day that is lighter than the rest of her body.
thank you

I find this happens with me, I use FakeBake and asked my trainer why this is and she said it is because the chest (**** area) doesnt see as much sun as the rest of the body and therefore doesnt take the tan as well. I go over the area a couple of times and this seems to work fine. What tan are you using?

Exposure or non exposure of the skin to UV makes little difference to a spray tan outcome as the tanning mechanism work completely different.

It could be various issues.

1) if a conditioner is used when washing hair it can create a barrier to the skin blocking the solution access to do its thing
2) If implants are in place the breasts tend to be colder and can create problems to this area.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I am using xentan and sienna x

hiya, i use XEN-TAN and have found that this happens to one of my clients, and im due to tan her again tommorrow and i have gone down the conditioner she is using and advised her to scrub the area after washing hair etc i will let you know the outcome!

Maybe im missing a point here or something but I do not understand the tutors response, i spray some clients with no knicks, not MY choice the "no knicker line" fanatics and that area would remain bro n and that isnt exposed to uva and uvb rays so that point makes little sense to me .....no???

Makes no sense to me either-lol
Tan goes darker on skin that is thicker and i think it's the opposite for skin that is thinner. The skin tends to be quite stretched in this area, making the skin thin and therefore the tan doesn't take as well.

Thanks everyone i think the last reply kinda explains it for me, cheers

The skin maybe oilier on her chest. Apply an extra coat.
HTH

Funnily enought that's the same response I had from LA Tan when I asked why I kept getting people saying that their legs werent dark enough! They said it was due to the fact that they were exposed to the sun as much! I always have to double spray them now!
