Hi, Does anybody know if limescale can build up inside spray guns?? I have a T200 which I got from Tantrick. It is my 3rd gun as whenever I took apart the others apart to give them a thorough clean they never went back as before, they never sprayed the same so I was sent replacements. Hence with this gun I NEVER dismantle it as I'm too scared to in case the same thing happens again. So I just rinse the gun out with hot water and spray until the water runs clear but I am worried this could cause limescale build up as I live in a very hard water area. Does anyone know if there is a way to clean these guns without having to take them apart?? Thanks.

Limescale,as you now know, plays havoc with spray tan guns as does under/over cleaning...its a case of finding the right balance between over cleaning and under cleaning.

If you do live in a hard limescale area rinsing with water will indeed cause limescale build up which will undoubtedly cause performance issues with your gun.

Strip the gun down....wash as usual in warm water with a detergent....then take a limescale remover product(or vinegar) and give the needle a good scrub to remove any lime scale build up(you cant see it but its there)....get a good quality spray gun lube or some Vaseline and lube the needle and re assemble the gun....this should do the trick

Sometimes over cleaning can cause more problems than under cleaning can so try and find the happy medium

How much is over cleaning? My trainer told me to wash my gun every day and spray till water runs clear, I do this even if I only have one spray. I'm also really rubbish at dismantling/re assembling my gun hence I am on my 3rd one!!! I can never seem to get it all back as before, I never know if I'm over tightening every thing.

Another suggestion could be, after firstly removing the limescale, use bottled water? I don't think it causes limescale build up!

Good idea!! Thanks.
