My wonderful husband has just finished converting our shed into a treatment room for me! Love it! ImageUploadedBySalonGeek1391979118.933168.jpgImageUploadedBySalonGeek1391979156.936115.jpgImageUploadedBySalonGeek1391979165.382067.jpgImageUploadedBySalonGeek1391979176.547895.jpg

We did call this our shed - as it was originally intended to be a little shed at the back of the garden! My dad built this completely from scratch and it's wear I carry out all my home beauty treatments. As it was originally supposed to be my dads play room it's not quite salon standard inside but it will be soon :)

Xxx

This is something I'm hoping to do on the next year or two. Does anybody have any issues with security/insurance etc? Do you just have a lock on the door or any other measures? I keep adding up how many thousands of pounds worth of equipments I would have in there and it scares me slightly! X

Love this thread :)

I'm looking into getting a cabin or converting my garage and called the council today to ask if it's straight forward or not and I was transferred to planning.
So those who have converted or built something to work from, have you been granted planning permission to turn your property into commercial use?
The guy I spoke to certainly wasn't very helpful and said it would be near impossible for me to work from home!
Off for some legal advice I think.

This is my cabin not the best photo !! ImageUploadedBySalonGeek1393793509.371818.jpgImageUploadedBySalonGeek1393793736.835990.jpg

Looks awesome. I'm hoping to knock down my garage and build a new one in its place in order to work from as it's in need of renewal anyway. Did you need planning for shower/toilet in the first place/later? Is yours detached from your house? Because mine is so I'm wondering if it would make a difference to house insurance anyway? x

No I didn't need planning, you don't usually for a garage conversion whether you're having a bathroom or not. My garage was integral and we had an outside loo which luckily was behind the garage so they just cut the wall out and made the wetroom with a bit of the garage included.

I'm going for a shabby chic theme.. This one bit of French furniture which has been restored has inspired my home room, can't wait until I'm up and running. XImageUploadedBySalonGeek1396602054.937511.jpg
