Hi Ann,

I hope I can be of help.

The system you are using really doesn't have the strength factor .. it is very flexible and 'works with the flexibility of the natural nail' so to speak, which is why it is good for what it is good for mainly natural nail overlays. Very simple, paint it on, no need for great sculpting skills as it is more like a polish.

For extending length of nails for those ladies who need that service .. you really need a stronger gel that holds its shape and is tougher. The type of gel I'm describing is never a soak off gel ... you don't need to ever soak it off anyway ... buff off gels buff off quite easily and quickly and you can soak off any that is left on the plate so that no damage is done when filing.

Many technicians work with both types of systems so that they can be flexible for their clientèle and offer choices ... that is what our business is all about.

Many who use Bio opt to use CND Brisa along with that system for extensions. Brisa is a top of the line gel, it is easy to work with, it is totally colour stable and beautiful so never yellows. The CND education is unparalleled in the industry and I'm sure you would not regret the choice.

You can contact Sweet Squared (the UK home of CND) for education near you on 08452106060 and you can have a view of the product at Welcome - Sweet Squared

I use Akzentz non soak off gel...for sculpts, natural nail overlays and over tips.

The best thing about using a non soak off gel, apart from the strength is the is how shiny and crisp they still look even at rebalance time..there is no staining or or fading as can happen with soft soak off gels.

I think adding a buff off gel to your services will really make a difference. x

I use Christrio, or Young Nails:)

Opinions will vary to some degree because there are several good gels on the market.
My advice is to choose the brand that meets your needs that has a distributor & educator (for trouble shooting) closest to you. Nothing's more of a pain in the butt than using a product line for which you have minimal or no support.

Having said that, prior to the brand I use now; my clients that were former NSS clients OR former wearers of L&P acrylic OR just simply heavy-handed, couldn't get on with the 2 brands of gel that I had. They were too flexible and not 'hard' enough.

Since I've switched to EZ Flow Gel-It, my clients get on fabulously and those that were formerly of NSS don't complain amymore.
It's a buff-off gel. Nice and strong, harder than the gels I used before.
They have recently come out with a soak-off, but I haven't tried it yet. Will keep you posted.

I personally have a preference to a buff of gel. Why? it has great strength and durability, it is great for NNO, Sculpting and Tip and Overlay. I invest in one range that does the lot (more economical) Brisa by Creative and Balance by NSI are great. Always use the recommended lamp as the lamp is so important to the curing process. Invest wisely in good education with your gel of choice.

EzFlow are launching the new Gel it! Alternatives at Olympia in a few weeks
Alternatives are soak off gel 'polish' & there is also a soak off builder gel.
There is 48 different colours/ glitters available (which can all be mixed and custom blended..... fab colour possibilities !)
They are fab for natural nail overlay, tip overlays and you can sculpt with them too :)

Hi
I have used soak off and buff off gels and yes Brisa is excellent but I find I like to work with Calgel as the clear gel is strong enough over tips as long as you build up the stress area as with all gels and it soaks off
I personally love calgel so I'm biased but I hope this helps
