Hiya

I'm at college doing NVQ2 beauty and have just learned manicure and I am really keen to learn nail enhancements. But for the time being just want to get my own nails looking a bit healthier.

My nails are constantly in and out of water during working hours and they split chip break very easily can bend them and I also have an iron deficiency.

A friend of mine on the same course is also doing an acrylics nail course and suggested overlays?

I am worried as I have had acrylics and when they were removed they were paper thin they recovered but I have been wouldnt like to have that experience again. Would that happen with overlays?

or is there something else I could try? :)

I would have regular manicures and get some solar oil from creative and rub it into your cuticles twice a day - it works wonders!!

Properly applied, no enhancement whether they are L&P, gel, etc will damage your nails. Any damage was caused by the nail tech treating your natural nail incorrectly, and in your case it sounds like overfiling.

This applies whether you have tips, sculpts or overlays. HTH
