Hi geeks,

This has been on my mind allot recently, I have always gone for the 'fake' look i.e always tanned up, lots of make up, hair extensions etc.Andi personally think it gives a fake look.

I am now going off the fake look and want to look more like me and more natural and i don't want the so called beauty therapist look, that most people expect therapists to look like.

So do you think you have the fake or natural look?
And what kind of look do you think looks best?

Hmmmm Im a bit of a contradiction really I almost always have natural looking nail enhancements and prefer a health glowing tan (never above an 8% EVER)

Although all that said I have purple hair, ten tattoos and facial piercings so thats kinda not natural!! Pmsl!!:green:

Natural for me every time. To me everything is about 'enhancement' and improving what you've got - not the 'in your face' look :)

I work with what nature gave me and enhance my natural beauty

I am a bit of a tanorexic these days but I only have an 8 as I am really quite fair skinned and I sooooooo don't want to look like a tango lady but thats it really. Oh I also have eyelash extensions when I can afford them too but they look natural - as someone said, it'll all about enhancing, not advancing!

Hmm...well my 'fake' tan and 'fake' nails are my biggest advert.Obvioulsy not over the top but over the top enough to be noticed.
What you see is what you get with me, and I need all the help I can get
:lol::lol::lol:

I think it is a question of perception....some people like natural, some people like fake....what is natural to someone may be percieved as fake by someone else....am i making sense...:)

I on the other hand, have had a little enhancement with things....but to me it is natural....i do not like the fake tan look of Dale Winton nor do i like the fake nail look of the "porn" nature...if that is the word to describe it...i much prefer the translucent, milky look with chic classic well groomed nails:green:

I would like to think myself natural, I dont have any kind of tan, occasionally use some of that moisturiser with the tan in it, I hardly catch the sun, went on sun beds for a while a couple of years ago and nothing happened :irked:
Make up is naturals but I do love long lashes, nails I do with tips, usually white but some times with a bright colour, nothing ott though :green:

I kind of like the look of the "fake look" but it's not for me. Does anyone ever watch snog marry avoid? lol those girls ARE over the top, and that to me is def not a good look, one girl went out for the night in just her underware which was practically non existant!

Yes i watch that programme its great isnt it!

It was on today and it makes me want to be 100% natural no nail enhancements nothing

ummmm, not wanting to sound rude, but 99% of beauty therapists don't look fake and too enhanced.

I don't wear enhancements so can't speak for them but for me I have a dark tan as that is how I look when I have a natural tan, so for me although dark it is natural - does that make sense?

Come and visit my area your views would change :hug:

I was always taught that therapists shouldn't wear any nail enhancements at all, not even a coat of clear polish. The only exception being if you were a nail tech and a nail tech only. In which case your nails are your shop window.

well rather than follow the crowd and be sheep, educate them and stand up for what YOU think is right for your professional image.

You can have 2 girls....both have tans, nails, hair extensions....ect....1 looks "fake" and the other doesnt....to look orange...have porn star french and unnatural extensions is bound to look fake...remove them all and the girl looks totally different...have the opposite and no-one would even know they where not your own....its not about having these things...its about how they are done.

Too right!

I think too many people expect beauty therapist to look all the same i.e face caked in make up, all long perfect hair, long lashes, all bronzed up.

But i think that persona should change as i think that's a big reason why some people think beauty therapists are dumb, as some that Ive seen look dumb because of their outside appearance.

Of course their is nothing wrong with a tan as long as it looks natural to your own self, and some lovely set of nails. This is not what i would call fake.

Could not have said it better, what a perfect point!x

I personally prefere natural looking enhanced if that makes sense!? By enhanced i mean not OTT, a little make up and a healthy glow. I have naturally very blonde hair so for me a little goes a long way, i fake tan but no more then 8% and wear natural/minimal make up as i dont want to look like barbie, just healthy.
Personally, i look at therapists as an example of their work- if their make up is over the top or their tan is orange then they certainly wont be doing mine!

does anyone remember the perfume seller off the fast show?:)

I think it's ok to have this fake look if you can pull it off. I don't agree that beauty therapists should look fake though. I wear make up religiously but without going over the top. If i caked myself in it then I would start to scare myself in the morning lol
I think hair extensions look nice and so do fake nails but they are just not something I wish to wear. I guess I just don't like to get used to things that i'd feel horrid without,if that makes sense? xxx
