Hello everyone, I am in my final year of doing my studies, and I did a bleach and tone model, this is my first bleach and tone that I have pretty much ever done, and long story short, you know the horror stories that people try to avoid? You know hair falling out HAPPENED TO ME!, I told my trainer all the steps and what I will be using and she said that it is fine, and she is saying that it is all my fault, and told the model what I did wrong and saying that she couldn't concentrate, this happened 2 days ago, and I'm normally a very happy person, but this has made me feel devastated and I'm not even going to attempt to do another bleach and tone for at least 3-4 months, has this happened to anyone else? If so how long did it take before you got your confidence back? I almost cried when I saw the hair coming out in the basin, I am very lucky though because the model was very nice and so was the partner, but I'm still very shaken from it.

Get back on the horse. Book someone else in for a full head bleach.

Longer you leave it the worse it'll be.

I would be complaining to someone above your trainer. Their job is to ensure that doesn't happen! Not entirely your fault, you're still training!!

Thanks!! I'll give it a try :) also my trainer is my boss, so unfortunately there is no one above her.

What did the tutor say you had done wrong?

Were you in a college at the time?
As the trainee, your supervisor is there to guide you and is generally responsible for any serious mistakes you inadvertently make so they shouldn't have tried to switch the blame to you. That sounds very unprofessional.

Presumably you discussed your proposed steps with your tutor within earshot of your model?

this happened at my work place, and under my trainer/bosses supervision, but yes I've found it very unprofessional, I haven't started at my college yet, but will bring it up with them as well, but yes when I went through the steps I was in front of my model, discussed what bleach, developer, and steps I'm going to use to reach the outcome of the colour and she was happy with it.
To be honest I probably should have listened to my gut because it was a regrowth, which is an inch, and her base colour was a 5 and her colour on the blonde bits were a 10! So it was a hard colour to do, especially for my first bleach and tone.

You obviously know where you went wrong (overlapping) and so respect your instincts in the future and book yourself another bleach & tone as soon as possible.

You need to move on quickly and not dwell on the error.

Your tutor/boss is shameful!

Hi, sorry to hear you have had a hard time, you supervisor is ultimately responsible.

Terrible that this has happened to you. I agree with the get back on the horse saying, but you have to get over things first, so take you time iwht that, it takes some longer than others, don't be ashamed of that, its ok.

xxxx

I had an awful experience with a colour cleanse once where I over promised and under achieved not to get to into but it ate me up for days I was just at the end of my training and was devastated until I said NEVER AGAIN! Best ting ever happened me I stuck my head down trained very hard and now am extremely happy with myself and believe I provide an exceptional service with plenty more to learn as always in hairdressing hope that helps [emoji173]️[emoji173]️

yeah was like an inch of regrowth, so I was literally trying my best not to overlap, we have a loreal training session soon, so we are apparently going over that with her as well, to be honest I won't be getting my boss to go through bleach and tone or anything with lightening with me what so ever! I'll be speaking to my tutor, someone wanted me to lighten their hair today and I was shaking and panicking and said I can't today and gave it to someone else
