Hi

i am wondering if anyone can recommend an alternative to St Tropez and Fake Bake for manual lotion tanning.

I find St Tropez doesn't go dark enough on some clients and i have had problems with Fake Bake going green (going off) too quickly.

I had found a lovely alternative - Body Drench Flawliss but it is discontinued.

Does anyone know of any reasonably priced lotion tans with a guide colour?

thanks
BB

I have heard that zen tan do lovely lotions. Dont hold me to that though I have no first hand experience of it but a lot of my clients highly recommend it xxx

no matter what anyone says I highly reccomment TanTruth. It's a resonable price and my clients love it! It has a pleasant smell to it and a colour guide, the lotion & spray has a thumbs up from me. I also love sienna x and tantrick :)

Sorry to butt in on this thread but do you know if tantruth provide any official training?
I've only had fake bake spray tan training and nothing in lotions so dont know if insurance and my clients would accept that?
But i'm really intrested in trying this.

Thanks

Once your clients realise they can it buy it themselves just as cheap (or cheaper) they will be off to Sally's for it and applying it to themselves,
this is why lots of us stick to professional products that are only available to professionals,

Yes they do, its who i did my training with. They are quite good and offer good after course support. Im happy with tanTruth at the moment but am eager to experiment with others!!

i've tried tantruth but it was green when it arrived! I do seem to have a problem with tans being green! i think that some stockists don't store them properly and they go off quickly.

i thought you had to have a trade card to shop at Sallys - i certainly get asked for mine every time - so how can clients shop there without one?

The first time I went to Sally's I did had not registered with them yet and I was able to shop with them. Just no trade discounts. I wasn't even asked if I was trade, hopefully the girl realised that I was by the questions Iwas asking and the products I was researching.
So yes anyone can shop there without a card,
just no trade "bonuses"

Anyone can shop at Sallys, but there are some products that can't be bought unless you have a trade card - eyelash tint is one which comes to mind.
I've been using Fake Bake for over a year now and I've never had a green problem! How are you keeping your lotions? Mine are kept in a cool, dark place. Not suggesting that you're not keeping yours properly, just looking for a reason for the problem.

If you have your card you will pay professional prices. Clients from the public have to pay full price. Although I have heard they are bringing in a new policy where only we can buy from them.
Personally I wont shop in there! I prefer to go to Capital, where they do a very good job of not providing their products to the public  xxx

well i had no idea the public could shop at Sallys. That explains why Katie Price was going in one in LA on her TV show - she's probably given loads of people the idea now!!

The public can buy Fake Bake and St Tropez really easily and that doesn't stop them going to salons to have it applied professionally so maybe it doesn't matter too much what you use, where you buy it and who can access it as long as the results are better than they could achieve themselves.

I am storing my fake tan in a cool dark place but i've had green problems so soon after buying products that i think the suppliers must be storing them wrong.

dont use zen it goes really orange, the salon i worked in got in in and then changed back to black to white.
