Hi all,

I have read about lotions containing urea 40%-45% can help with onycholysis, onycryptosis, onychomycosis, dryness/healing and thickness. Im wondering if you have recommended this to clients as an option or if you heard of this, used productgs containing it? Also, it seems as though you can but it over the counter or sell as inventory?

As read on:

Never heard of it, I'd point the question towards Doug Schoon, he's my trusted go to source for things like this

I had not heard about this, but also did some research. It seems that there has been some research that shows adding Urea to a nail medication actually increases the ability of the other ingredients to transfer through the nail.

Personally, I am not aware of any over the counter products that use this but it is unlikely that an over the counter product would be really effective. The good stuff would probably need to be administered by a dermatologist. Besides, we are not qualified or insured to make medical diagnosis.
