Magpie glitters

Hi guys,
Please can someone tell me how exactly you use these loose glitters when you are doing gel nails? Ive only just come across them and would love to try them out. Also what are the pigment pots for?

I love these but I only see people using them with gel, do they not give the same effect with normal polish? X
