hi ive got a full head colour of majicontrast (i know your not ment to use it as a all over colour) i have to keep doing it every week or every 2 weeks as it fades so fast ive been using 20vol but was thinking of using 10vol to see if it lasts any longer has anyone got any advice thanks sharon

Hi sharon,
Which one have you got on hair now? I know your not meant to use as full heador the coppe but it gives such a fab colour ( until it fades) My daughter has worn all of them . the Copper/red the longest. In the end the best way I found to keep the hair vibrant is to refresh with a semi or quasi ( so even less than a 10vol. For the copper ones I used the wella colour Touch then Colour fresh . As the majicontrast openes the cuticles more each time it tends to fade quicker s the semi s act as a stain and seem to last much longer. She also used the wella shampoo and conditioner for red hair and lots of good treatments to improve the cuticle.
Also when roots need some attension , I would still use the 20 vol on the natural growth and then the semi or quasi on the previously coloured hair

hi, if u have no grey to cover then u should only be using 3%! this will just deposite colour which is what u want rather than lifting! hth x

the magenta is so lovely, but i think that was one of the harder ones to find a semi for , hence we stayed with the copper reds for longer. The problem is even with a 10vol there is still a lightening effect with that product. When I looked for a semi equivelent in the L'orel range there wasnt one for the magenta. i think its something they should look towards as I know how popular the high contrast reds are for full head colour. Be interesting to see how much longer it lasts for you. x

a brilliant semi to use is prizms plus by matrix, try their zappy red, it is such a nice rouge colour that conditions & adds a glossy shine. Its comes in many shades & i personally love that you can refresh & tones many hair colours in btw a cut or colour. However it onlys lasts around 8-12 shampoos but i have used it over majicontrast magenta red & red and the results were as vivid as putting them in!

That sounds great, I used to use a matrix Red range ( gel like formula) that i think was out before majicontrast and did the same sort of thing. But my Capital supplier stopped stocking matrix so to much hastle to get the products anymore. This sounds worth looking for as have always struggled to find the perfect semi for the magenta , thanks x

Hey Siansy, go to the matrix website uk, it lists thier distrubutors who can give you matrix rep in your area to come by your salon/mobile place and help stock you up personally. I love using different brands but this is a great product to refresh!! Hth's xoxo
well never lasted any longer with the 10vol so ive ordered matrix zappy red thanks for u ur feed back guy :lol:

My friend has this she used 20vol then
when it fades and she needs to redo it, she mixes it with a little water, and I must say it lasts another couple of weeks! X

Since the Matrix Prisms Plus Zappy Red color has been discontinued, has anyone found a good replacement?
I LOVED it and disappointed they don't make this color anymore!
