Hi All

New to this and just wondered what cleaner/sanitizer people used for their make-up brushes??

Also what range of make up do you use?

Thanks

Jane Iredale - really gorgeous, easy to use mineral cosmetics:

Virtually no allergy risk. All products have been sensitivity tested.
Broad-spectrum UVB and UVA protection - up to SPF 20.
Anti-inflammatory, helps to calm and soothe irritated skin.
Very water resistant rating by an approved FDA lab.
Complete coverage for skin conditions like acne, rosacea and redness following treatments like chemical peels and laser resurfacing.
Contains no talc or parabens.
Composed of inert minerals that cannot support bacteria.
Environmentally aware.
No products have been tested on animals

Their botanical brush cleanser is brilliant for cleansing brushes- its got seaweed and grapefruit extract to keep them conditioned.

Have a look:

I used to do make-up as i worked for body shop.
I used to wash them in tea tree facial wash, shape them up and put them in my uv cabinet to kill any germs and stand them up -right in a vase to dry.A few time tho ive left them on my kitchen window and left the house, leaving them behind lol So you may want to put them next to your treatment bag :)

For a cheap fix, use Vinegar and water - I think 2 to 1 is the mixture suggestion. I like MAC cleaner for my personal brushes since it condition them and I've spent a ton of $ on my huge brush collection (I use a brush to apply everything!).BTW, don't place your brushes upright after cleaning! Dry them by placing between a towl or paper towl and applying pressure, being careful not to be too rough; then LAY THEM DOWN on a paper towel to dry completely- you don't want any moisture to run down into the barrel.

I like MK Minerals but can't use them alone, unfortunately. I have to always consider protecting my face from free radicals, bacteria and sun here in So California so I use a sheer, waterproof foundation from SeneGence and powder lightly with the minerals.

Alimac made great points about choosing minerals (no talc, non-comedogenic, etc) and it sounds like the suggestion is one to check out.

hugs, kelly
