Hi geeks,
I wonder if anyone can give me some advice. I have been looking into the Artdeco make-up range and there is a training day on the 28th July which i could go to. The products look really nice and the company is very helpful too. I am thinking though i would like to eventually specialise in this area so would you say it would be best to get an actual qualification at college in make-up or do you think i would be ok to go on the Artdeco course which offers wedding/prom, photograph & fashion makeup and then build myself a portfolio or do you think if you are going to specialise in this area you should really have a "college qualification"? Thanks

Hi

is this the one day course? I went on the Art Deco one day makeup course at my college. It was excellent but was really just an "extra" to the makeup tutorials we were having. The course leader is called Tracy Eunson (probably spelt wrong, sorry) and she does makeup for loads of popstars like the Spice Girls, Girls Aloud, Take That and Kaiser Chiefs as well as doing loads of TV work. She was brilliant and demoed bridal, catwalk and photographic makeup.

I really enjoyed the day - you watch her do demos in the morning and then you practise in the afternoon while she gives you tips. However, this day alone wouldn't be enough to learn makeup application, you will probably need a longer course for that.

if you have any more questions about it, please ask.

I too did the one day Art Deco stuff with Tracy Eunson (dont know how to spell it either) as part of my college course. It was great to see her work and got some good tip off her but it was no where near enough. I wanted to learn so much more from her but there was not enough hours in the day! I think spending 6 months with her wouldnt have been enough.

I wish I had fully finished my college course first before I did the day with Tracy as I wished I had embedded the basic skills first before being able to absorb all the advanced stuff from tracy.

Which college did you go to bedbunny?

i went to South Cheshire College, just finished my nvq level 2 there which included makeup and i'm going on to do my level 3 there in September plus an advanced makeup course which includes dry hair styling.

Hi Hun,
Where is the course being held? I did bridal make up with NSI. But have been looking into the Artdeco minerals range. They have said a rep will come out to my salon to demo, but another course would be good too.
Please let me know.
Thanks
Lotsa luv x x x

Hi all, i have already a basic make-up qualification i wanted to do an advanced course and have researched artdeco and they seem to be in my price range and they were so helpful too. Artdeco are in Liverpool so it would be a little drive for me but i think it will be worth it.
