Hello skin geeks!

I wonder if anyone can assist? I have a friend who has very pale white skin but is now suffering from vitiligo on her face. Large patches around her eyes. She has tried lots of makeups to no avail and wonders if there are any miracle makeups out there? Thanks so much in advance.

I work using skin camouflage for Vitiligo aswell as for scarring and various skin conditions but am no longer based in the UK. Please get in touch with BASC and ask them to give advice or point in direction of skin professional or camouflage nurse, this is often very useful as tips and reassurance can be given regarding products. http://www.skin-camouflage.net/ I have used the following brands available in the UK with success, Lycogel, GloMineral Camouflage, CovermarkCamouflage. I hope this helps your friend x

Whereabouts is your friend? I'm not too far away from you. I do a complimentary consultation using the Jane Iredale range of make up, so super gentle on the skin, and great options for coverage. Give me a shout if I can help x

How about bare minerals? I did the makeup for a bride last week, who has PCOS Her skin has break outs, extremely red in places, the only thing that covered it and gave her an coverage and flawless finish was bare minerals. I couldn't believe it.

I would strongly advise seeing someone who specialises in camouflage especially for medical purposes for vitiligo, they can show how to cover effectively and also best products to use that are durable. A skin professional such as Squidernetball should be able to help you as can the British Assoc. of Skin Camouflage.

Completely agree. Despite not being a skin geek, my mum has had severe Vitiligo all of her life and was recommended Cover Derm and Dermablend makeup by a specialist and has worn every day for 20 years. She is very happy with it x

I am qualified in skin camouflage and use veil, however I'm based in Hampshire.

Thank you so much for offering to help. She's actually in Manchester but I will mention the range you use and maybe she'll find someone nearby. Thank you again! x

I believe she has tried bare minerals to no avail. I use them myself and love them though!! Thank you x
