Does anyone have any suggestions about what I could add to my manicure and pedicure treatments?

At the moment, my treatments include the following:

Manicure - Nails shaped, nails buffed, warm-oil treatment (soak), cuticles tidied, exfoliating treatment, hand mask treatment including thermal mitts, hand and lower arm massage and nails polished.

Pedicure - Foot spa, nails shaped, cuticles tidied, exfoliating treatment, reduction of hard skin, foot treatment mask including thermal booties, foot and lower leg massage and nails polished.

Does anyone have any suggestions when it comes to the reduction of hard skin? At the moment I am using Skintruth's Pedi Foot Scrub and a rasp or PedEgg but I would like something that is more thorough. I liked the idea of the Acid Pedicure advertised on This Morning. Does anyone know of anything that gives those results?

I am interested in using parrafin wax as part of my manicures and pedicures. I have an EggPot, and I'm not sure, but when I purchased it, I think I was told that you could use it for paraffin wax. There is an 800g chamber and I am guessing this is were you would heat it. Does anyone know anything about it?

To be honest if it were me I wouldnt bother with the paraffin treatment as you are already providing a warm mask and mitts/booties section of your treatments.

Rather than adding an extra step I would be inclined to look at the way you do things to make things a little more luxurious maybe. Making the soak a bit more luxurious with oils and soaks and maybe including petals or something a little different.

Sometimes playing with different products can help you get an improved result.

Also I think rather than adding some steps it would make sense to make sure you are giving your client the best possible service at each stage. Maybe learn some massage techniques and make the massage part of the treatment longer and more specialised so that it stands out above the rest to the client.

I think you shuld do a spa Mano and a spa pedi class with creative products, for manicure and pedi they are amazing!
The acid pedi looked like CND sea sirrum or makybe callouse peel ( not cnd) I've not tryed it ... The name scared me lol ,
with the cnd pedi range you wil find the products do the battle and enchant the client for you ,
and you will have amazing results evry time,
I first used skin truth at collage I thought it was a bit like washing up liquid In diffrent forms ,

or maybe doing a course in a specialised foot massage technicque?? clients normally enjoy the massage section, some its their favorate part, maybe offer the option of a thia foot massage or something similar, also it's cost effective as only a massage meduim will be added to costings, it more your hard work, so client gets a fab extra masssage that they will love and you also benifit from extra pennies per pedi?? hth x

I agree with the massage - a great idea, and a lot of clients would love it!

I do parrafin wax for manicure and pedicure, but not with the heated mitts - its one or the other, but your clients might like the option if they fancy something a little different. I found that more mature clients especially like the paraffin wax as it is good for arthritis. Personally, I love the feeling when you peel the wax off! :)

I have a Hive warm wax heater and use that to heat the paraffin wax. If you buy them in pellets you can use a little amount at a time instead of chopping a huge block up! If you have a warm wax heater, either clean the inner pot before changing to paraffin, or buy a second inner pot and you can use both.

I agree with what you say about making the treatments more luxurious. That was what I was meaning. I would like to give the client the best and most professional treatment possible so any suggestions in achieving this are most appreciated. The majority of my clients at the moment are elderly, and they particularly enjoy the massage, so I'll take it on board what you said about learning some more specialised massage techniques.

Eventually I would like to be trained in and using CND products, that is what I am working towards.

I've watched the videos found in the CND Video Library of the manicures and pedicures and the treatments look so luxurious. That is the standard of treatments I would like to be offering my clients. And I will do, eventually.

there are several good products for softening callouses to be filed down, i couldnt imagine doing pedi's without them!!!... my personal favorite is cuccio kava root elixr, I apply it liberally to callouses with a cotton pad, wrap their feet in warm towels and let it sit for 2-3 minutes. Then i rinse their feet and use a foot file to smooth the callouses, the dead skin build up literally falls off. Works amazingly!:) there are several other callous "removal" products from various lines, they usually contain alpha hydroxy acids or beta hydroxy acids that slough away dead skin cells.
I agree with the others though, your services seem very complete, rather than adding more steps i would focus on enhancing the overall experience. Some things that come to mind are aromatherapy, refexology, or themed pedicures.

I like the idea of aromatherapy and reflexology. I am trained in aromatherapy at the moment so I could implement that into my pedicures for the time being. Themed pedicures sound interesting. What themes do you suggest?
