I am a fully qualified beautician and a aromatherapist but i like to have back up when i mix oils i like to look in books and see what blends with others..is there a good book that tells you what to blend and precautions aswell eg pregnacy....

The Complete Guide to Aromatherapy by Salvatore Battaglia. For me its an excellent book and I found it very helpful when I was studying Aromatherapy. I got mine from Amazon and think it was about £30.

Are you looking for a good book on Massage or Aromatherapy?

If you want a bit of back up when blending, then Wanda Sellar's Directory of Essential Oils is useful.

If it's a book on massage that you're after, then I think Mel Cash's Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy book is really a really useful read. Even if you're not a sports masseuse, it will give a really good insight into what massage therapy can really achieve, will make you much more aware of what you are doing. However, aromatherapy massage is very different, it is not a massage as such, simply a means of getting the oils into the skin, so it really depends on what you are after

HTH:)

I use Aromatherapy an A-Z by Patricia Davis, the Encyclopaedia of Essential Oils by Julia Lawless, and Aromatherapy by Chrissie Wildwood. I have also used The Frgarant Pharmacy by Valerie Ann Worwood, but I found her dilutions to be very high and usually end up halving the number of drops of essential oils she suggests. The blends are very good though.

Hi there all Helen McGuinness's books and DVD's are excellent - i recommend them to anyone.

I have a few of the books by Valerie Ann Worwood which are fabulous.
