Hi everyone,

I’m wondering if anyone can help. I completed my NVQ levels 2 & 3 Beauty Therapy 12 years ago and have worked in various salons since. I’ve always specialised in the lashes, brows and nails side of things but have recently started a job in a spa type salon. There are lots of bookings for massage in my new job and I’ve really enjoyed the change.

I’ve never really done a lot of massage and feel I give an ‘ok’ massage but I’d really like to brush up on my skills and perform an amazing massage. The spa have given me some in house training when I started and I picked up some great moves but I’d really like to do a course of some sort. Does this type of course exist? Any recommendations? I’m in the North but able to travel... just not the other side of the country!
Thanks

ps I’ve watched some YouTube videos but not really helped and a lot of the videos weren’t great, I feel like I need hands on help.

Are you thinking something like deep tissue massage, Tui na, or myofascial release as an advanced massage course? Or would you want to just refresh the basics?

Gateway workshops offer advanced massage courses ,fully accredited and suitable for an experienced therapist like yourself. Or go back to the beginning and do Swedish/holistic course.

Eccles is probably your nearest location, so look into it.

Personally I did the Aromatherapy diploma and I was happy with my choice, but have always added in a little Swedish massage into my work if it seemed appropriate.

Thanks for your reply, just looked at Gateway workshops website and it’s just what I’m looking for! Wow didn’t realise there were so many different massage types, I want to do them all 😂 I’m going to email them for more info, thanks again
