Hi all, a little while ago I was on holiday in australia and had an amazing massage! I can't remember the name of it but I the therapist told me it was a traditional Aboriginal massage. Does anyone know what the name might be and also if anyone over here (preferably in London, Essex or Kent) does a training course in it? Thanks guys!

Wow that sounds different!

What did the massage involve?
Was it hands-on or was something else used?
What was the massage titled as on her price list?

Have you tried googling it?

I will keep my eye on this thread to see what the other geeks come up with, maybe some from Australia will know what you mean.

Love Emma xx

Kodo massage?

Kodo, A Dreamy Technique From Down Under
The traditional massage of indigenous Australian culture honors dreaming, or Dreamtime, and the expanded consciousness it can create. A new technique, Kodo, builds on that tradition, offering clients deep peace and relaxation. With its rhythmic rocking, circular movements, sweeping strokes and aromatherapy, Kodo massage is making inroads at spas throughout North America.

On the price list it didn't have proper names but I know it was 'the Dreamer' so from what soriminah's describing, that sounds about right!
Yeah I tried googling it but nothing come up, I've just done it again with 'Kodo massage' and loads of pages have popped up (no courses though :( ) so good times!
Thanks guys.

To be honest I don't know if this is a legit thing or something someones made up to suck in tourists - I'm aboriginal and never heard of it so it's new to me. There seems to be a lot of spas that provide it and I can't find any other info on it. I tried ringing AAMT today but they were closed. If it is a legit therapy I'd be interested in learning it myself.

The other name that is coming up with it it Li'tya Kodo Massage and as far as I can tell Li'tya made a range of products and provide these to spas and also have their own spas. Maybe it is something they designed.

Haha well now I feel really daft but it was lovely when I had it so nevermind! Thank you for looking into it anyway. xxx
