Hiya guys, i'm interested in knowing what it takes-course wise (obviously alot of skill goes without saying) to become a master at CND are there a set number/different courses and how long it took each of you? would love to hear how it went for different people xx :green:

Hi Jodi ....

To find out about the format of the Master Classes, call Sweet Squared and talk to one of the advisers there who will not only explain but send you the education brochure with all classes fully described.

As for timing ... some take the classes one after the other and others stretch it out over a year or even more. It is up to you.

Becoming a CND Master is not all about skill (although of course your skills will improve dramatically and you will go up a few notches for sure) but also acquiring knowledge. Those who become CND Masters are very proud of their achievement as well they should be and CND are very proud of them and to be associated with them and their businesses.

Taking the classes is not an automatic pass ... you have to come up to the mark.

Ring S2 on 08452106060 for all the info you require.

i have done two classes they were fun although i stuffed up at least once in front of the teacher, but she knew my work in general, so i passed i got my badge today, I found that everyone passed in class, which i was surprised at. as one girl wasn't a certified nail tech..

im guessing we all pass as i didnt hear anyone say they didnt.

Can i just point out that here in the UK non trained tech's would only be allowed on the foundation course and students have to meet the requirements to pass, thank god for S2 :D

I find this very hard to believe! All sounds a bit casual and not like CND at all.

However, Congratulations on your badge which would normally never have been given out after only 2 classes by any CND educators I know. It all sounds very odd to me.

Good job you are not in the UK  If you'd stuffed up in front of me you would not have passed, even if I did know the normal quality of your work.! We're tough task masters in the UK. And when they get them people are very proud to have got the award for their hard work and effort ... not for just attending.

This has been confusing me lately... I took a Masters course in Denver in L&P, which was over two days with a (really cool!) certified CND Edu Ambassador... I believe we all got certificates, though I moved here before I received mine in the mail.

By the looks of things on the website, CND seem to have restructured their education system in the US. There are Basic Courses and Specialty Courses and System Showcase events now along with Masters Course, each with their own prerequisites, which weren't there a few months ago. There are also sections for Partner Schools and Educational Ambassadors training. It sounds more like the structure in the UK, no? From the descriptions, I think what I learned was more of a mix between a System Showcases Event and Basic Course and Masters Course. It was surprising how many people weren't familiar with PREP and application techniques and stuff. She had to spend a lot of time going over what are now the basics. Maybe it's just backasswards Colorado... So it's good it's more organized now. =)

At any rate, it was an excellent experience with a kick ass educator and worth the money for the amount I've learned and the paradigm shift that's rocked my core being! (Haha) And now that there is a structure there with rhyme and reason and a path and a GOAL, I feel really good about my decision to continue my education with them. I'm insatiable! :green:

Although, I'm no longer sure if I should be advertising myself as a CND-trained tech, if I'm quite honest.

I totally hear you; i think we just need to remember that what works in the US doesn´t always work everywhere else. You guys have to go to your local wholesaler to do education where as our UK teks have to go to private nails only schools (or college). The private schools are run by the distrbutors of the various product lines from the US (like we have CND ONLY) others disribute NSI, OPI etc... you can´t go to one place and get everything like you can in the US. That my clarify a little... or not!!

I am totally feeling the pain of not having ONE place to go to get "the good stuff" (versus SALLY and the, ahem, not so good stuff, blech)! In the end, it is a really good solution to the problem of controlling distribution to qualified professionals ONLY, so it's worth the sacrifice.

It'd be kinda cool if you could collect points for continuing education by ordering from a sole manufacturer here, like in the US. It's only something I've noticed amongst manufacturers who value continuing education and keeping their stylists up-to-date in the US. It still costs a load of money due to travel and that, but it makes it *sound* more exciting. =P
