Maternity pay?

Hi I’m so confused what to do about going on maternity! My current situation is pregnant due 3 August I rent a chair in a salon and Love it there! I would like to go back in February which is 6month off and go back for 2 days a week. But was wondering if I went back earlier for 1 day a week just to keep in touch with clients will i lose my maternity pay if i did this? Please share what any of your story’s
