Hello,
I just wondered if anyone had a any experience with the MATIS product and if you find clients had heard of it?

a salon I worked at used it, I've had a few facials with the products (nice), even bought the products to use at home (did nothing for my skin) which lasted about a year, cos I got 500ml bottles. Within a week of using Liz Earle my skin was transformed and got compliments from a therapist that worked at the salon!

I took over from a therapist that had the Matis stock in and had an opportunity to buy the whole range for a really good price, I got the rep in to discuss it, but knew that I couldn't promote the range whole heartedly because I didn't believe it could do what it said.

they are a good company, the products are nice enough, the retail is reasonable, but I am looking at a range from an entirely different viewpoint probably, I want products to be as natural as possible, wheras matis have a repuation for performance.

incidentally, the salon has last month changed their matis range for another company, and thats after using matis for nigh on 10 years.

another one i was thinking of is phytomer as aren't they natural?

I absolutley love Matis !

Its one of the top three ranges that I love, its very, very effective for anti-ageing and the products for oily/acne skin are fabulous.

If I had a high street salon and money was no object then I would definetely stock Matis.

One of the reasons I choose not to stock them is because I don't feel as a company they do enough to promote the range to consumers within the UK and I really needed a well known range that would entice clients in and that I didn't have to promote as much as a less well known range.

Hi Bombini,
I'm trying to decide which range to go with as I can't afford a huge outlay! There's Guinot, Dermalogica and Susan Molyneux around me, so i really need another range that people have heard of but that isn't expensive to start up with, can you reccomend any?
xx

What sort of budget do you have ?

There are a few Dermalogica salons near me (within a mile radius) and none of us effect each others business (as far as I know) however Im out of the town centre and they are in the town so we have totally different target audiences.

Two ranges that I can think of that are well known and not massive start up costs are Environ & Mary Cohr. I have never tried Environ but I am a fan of Mary Cohr, they are the sister company of Guinot although they have a different UK distributor and I think the start up is around £2500 well it used to be.

mary cohr is doing an offer where if you buy the start up package - around £3k you get a £3k machine free. the skincare sanctuary is their distributor and they also stock gatineau and phytomerwhere if you spend £4k with those 2 you get £6k worth of stuff for face and body plus you get 1.5k worth of make up free or £1k put into a personal bank account. they do great rep support and fab wee packs for retailing. i thought i liked mary cohr but i tried a moisturiser and wasnt impressed. gatineau is very scientific and anti aging but a lot of my clients havnet heard of it so if i do change then it'll prob dermalogica. i have nimue in and love it but its too expensive to retail and the people in ireland who distribute it are a total joke.
hth

I think I can get a start up for around £2k with retail so i'm seriously thinking about it my only worry is that it's not that well known. But i LOVE them!

hi

i have been a matis salon for 5 years and love the product, i have had so many brilliant results with it, in delicate oily and they have a brilliant new antiageing range, i know the start up was around 3K, but the support is much better than other skin care ranges. i used to be a elemis salon and got no support at all, i have also used dermalogica:cry: rubbish. i like matis because it is exclusive to proffesional salons,:smack:
