Ok.... I have a "mature" client who is a lovely person.
She's been my On/Off client for 4yrs.
What happens is she decides her natural nails are dreadful, and wants her nails done.
She comes to see me, gets enhancements... is happy for about 2-3mths..
And she IS happy. She refers clients left and right.
BUT
Once she has had NNO's for a while, she wants them off again since her own nails have grown in and want's to see how she does:rolleyes:

I have explained over and over that the gel will NOT change her natural nails, nor strengthen them etc. Gel overlays will only protect. They do NOT change the condition of the natural nail. No matter how I explain it, she thinks that once she has reached NNO's, her own natural nails are stronger.

AND
despite having done this several times now... and despite that she sees her own nails are still thin and brittle naturally and that she will break them.... she STILL thinks her nails are stronger now and wants to remove them again.

Now, I should be happy she keeps coming back.
BUT... why not just stay regular and leave it at that?
No matter how I explain, she thinks her nails 'change'

It drives me bananas LOL I don't know how to make her understand her nails are the SAME as they were the day she got her enhancements. I've explained every which way.
I even used a bra analogy.
EX: bra lifts saggy ****s. Bra comes off, ****s sag again. No matter how often the bra is worn, those ****s are STILL saggy BUT look great in the bra.

I've tried every way I can think.

(add to that, she can't decide between squoval or oval, and so every appmnt, she's filed them a different way in between and they're all cock-eyed  so evening them out again is a chore... drives me nuts LOL)

Should I just give up and stop trying to explain and do whatever she asks and leave it at that?

Nice analogy  Did she agree with it?

As for what's best to do, I think maybe as a mature client she might just do what she wants to and I guess as a paying client that's her choice. I can understand your frustration, I suppose though it is a bonus that she introduces more clients when she does visit :)

Nice analogy  Did she agree with it?

LOL
I have another ****/nail enhancement analogy.

Some clients who have NNO's say they argue with their friends that their nails are not false.
I say "you're right. They are NOT false nails. False nails are Lee-press-on's". "Your nails are enhanced. Much the same as a good support or underwire bra or sport supports and enhances and protects your bosom, your Uv gel NNO does the same thing: enhances, supports and protects. They are your ****s aren't they? They're not fake. So therefor, neither are your nails"
:green:

After that, their friend's can't argue with them

I just love the way you explained that.:)

Oh god you poor thing.... I have a similar lady.. she has an allergy to acrylic... she "forgot" to mention this to me when I "read her the nail act!".( consultation)
So off we go put a new set on within 3 months I start to notice natural nail plate seperating... " I banged them...." she said.. hmmmm..... By the next infill.. i notice more problems... explain to her i think they need to come off due to allergy.....
she said" Oh yeah that is what my other nail lady said too!!!!!"... OMG...
So anyway it has been about 6-8 months and she books for a full set... cause the allergy has grown out!!!!! she wants them back on again.....
I almost fell off my chair... I explained to her that as soon as the product touches her nails it will happen all over again. but NO... she says it has grown out....

I would have offered her gel nails but to tell you the truth she is much to hard work for the smallk amount that i charge....I know that sounds bad but she is.

Good luck with your lady
X
