Dear Skin Geeks,
I am sadly lacking in 'professional skin care' knowledge. I love using and trying new things however I am not in the 'full know' of what is a great product or not.

I originally started using Chanel... which is not classed as professional:rolleyes:. Then I went to a salon using Dermalogica and loved all the things I bought from them. Then THG took on Nimue from SA and I really loved all their products although they specialised in 'skin types' and I am lucky... I have good skin and can use anything (well have been able to so far).

Currently I have facials and a Glycol Peel and the salon I go to are very big with both MD and Collin. What are the professionals thoughts on these systems as I don't know much about them other than they are professional and well respected beauty companies.

My skin looks great after the peel (every 3-4 weeks)... but I guess I would just like to be more enlightened!

Many Thanks!

Interested to see replies to this. I have a rep coming to offer me an MD peel on the 8th of Feb. Im going to decide if its something I want to take on at the salon. Last time she visited she spoke highly of the fact that they have a high percentage of Vit A that could possibly be put into a product. After that its by prescription only. x

Thanks NM... let's wait and see... the salon I go to has tonnes of retail in both product ranges and it is expensive but I guess most pro beauty products are expensive nowadays! I only roll my eyes because I am used to paying trade prices!! :!:

When I trained with Nimue........who's peels are amazing, I was under the impression that to get that strength, they would have to be pro use only. So, I don't think that any home peel would compare as they're much weaker. xxx

Ps. Sorry, I meant to say that I've never heard of Collin but MD are great products.

I haven't used either MD or Collin so I am afraid I cannot comment on how good they are.

I use and retail Environ which is based on high volumes of active A, C and E vitamins.

They absolutely do work wonders with skin and I am hooked.

A 50 ml moisturiser retails at £25.95 and should last 8-12 weeks so for an amazing professional brand that truly delivers I think it is a very competitive price point.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful:hug:

Thanks MartiGirl... I remember the Nimue girls saying that Environ was similar to Nimue... I have no clue if that is right or not but I think they are both from SA???

Hi
Collin are a french skincare company, they do face and body products for both salon and retail. I worked with them in a salon a few years ago, they do brilliant products including a morpho lift facial which is fab, think its something similar to glycolic peel, the body moisturiser, eye gel and tanning spray is fab. they retail really easily and you have a bonus card so each time you sell a product you write down its code and when u fill the card you get free products. Its fab, i have also used dermalogica in a salon aswell tho both great companies:) website: Collin UK - Welcome to Collin UK

i have to say of the salons is worked in the best skin care range we used was collin. they did retail easily, as they are not major expensive, but they do really really do the job and instantly. the treatments are nice and the skin care range is easy to follow and remember.

Yes both are from SA

I've been using md formulations in my salon for over five years now - it's a brilliant range, suitable for all skin types and loads of skin conditions. Their training is also very good, but you must really learn the products and their effects to get the best use of them. Also v important to make sure clients undertstand that they must protect their skin from uv, as the glycolic removes upper layers of dead skin (not v scientific way of explaining it, but the easiest!). If you use md together with bare escentuals mineral make up you will find you have an excellent combination.

The products are not full of essential oils, they do not smell "lovely" as other products may do, but i explain to my clients that they do what they say on the label, to quote a well known advert!

Good luck with md, i would definately recommend the range.

Thanks Elaine... they also sell the make up too!!

Hello!
I have to agree with Elaine here! MD is a fabulous range! I have been using and selling them for ten years now and I am always impressed with the results I get!
They are well worth the money!

Thank you... what a loyal customer you are too - 10yrs!! :)

Oh, I have tried others, at trade fairs and such, but no other product gets you the result that MD does, and fast!
I have seen pretty bad acne disappear after 2-3 month, and that´s fast!
It´s also great for dry, damaged skin.
Combined with Cellex-C I had people come up to me asking what I do for my skin. Once even at the girls room at 1 o´clock in the morning at a nightclub!

Ooh im quite looking forward to when the rep visits. Im already using their Bare Escentuals and you are able to apply it immediately after a peel. Good for clients not wanting to leave with a naked (perhaps red) face. I know a course is recommended but can you notice a difference straight after one peel?
