M husband ,says you can hardly notice it ,but think he's just being nice because i certantly can.Just worndered if any of you skin specalists could recommend any suggestions:idea: as its starting to get me down. thanks ,all help apprieciated.x:sad:

Hi thanks for your reply,so what do you recommend?glycolic, kojic acid ,melanin supressant .magnesium ascorbyl phosphate ,hydroquinone ,lightening gel .Where can i get any of these from .and you think i need to see a gp or a skin specialist, dermatologist?

I would not bother with the GP for this as they are not skin specialists. I would see a beauty therapist in a specialised skin salon or go to a dermatologist. Explain your problem over the phone before you book an appointment to see how competent they would be in dealing with your skin concern. Each practitioner will recommend what works best for their clients.

I suppose you want a practitioner with a few different treatments as what works best for you could be different on someone else.

When using any of these products you must use Spf 30 or higher to prevent further, worse pigmentation.

I, too, have been plagued with melasma for years now. I've tried everything to get rid of it, hydroquinone, peels, microdermabrasion, Intense Pulsed Light and even Fraxel Laser treatments. If anything, my melasma is WORSE now than ever before! I still have hope, though. I've heard that the Cosmelan Hyperpigmentation Treatment is the only thing that will help, so I asked my dermatologist to order it for me. I'm waiting now for it to arrive. Here's their web site: .: mesoestetic® :. I've been told that you can never eliminate the hyperpigmentation entirely, only manage it, or fade it to the point that it can be concealed with makeup. Of course, any sun exposure will make it flair up once again. Still, I'm optomistic that Cosmelan's treatment will help. Hope this helps!
