Was just wondering what you all use to clean your metal waxing spatulas with.
I soak mine in the Perron Rigot solvent (how fab is that stuff?! Gets any wax off the floor too).
Then i pop it in the barbicide.
Is there a good spray you use?

I leave mine in a wax of solution untill clean then then barbicide. I have 6.
Do you have large metal spatulas, if so where did you buy them from. I got mine from Australia though they are abit small.

Perron Rigot have metal spatulas. Do any of you use metal spats for hot wax?

I got mine from Perron Rigot too. Only ever use disposable spatulas with the non-strip wax. I use metal spatulas for strip wax only.

I only use metal spats for strip waxing and wooden for non strip wax. I love mine and I wouldn't be without them. I get mine from Perron Rigot. After you've cleaned them, you can spray with anti-bacterial spray and leave them to dry. xxx

Will be buying mine on Sunday when I am training with Kim!! So Excited!!!!

Daft question I know, but why can't you use metal spats with non strip wax?

Technically you can, but remember that we don't double dip on intimate areas. So, that would mean cleaning the metal spat after each dip. Life's too short.

Yea i only use metal on strip wax, wooden on hot wax. I totaly love hot wax.

I only use wooden single use spatulas for all waxing - both strip and hot. No double dipping at all. Ever.

Could you not have several metal spats and put them in solvent after each dip? I was thinking of having a dozen or so, because they would work out cheaper in the long run.

I've been wondering about the metal spatula and how come it's okay to double dip with that, yet not with disposable? Looking for some clarification and education here is someone is willing to share.

TIA xx

It's totally fine to double dip, triple dip etc. unless you have a load of blood over it for instance.

Waxers have been double dipping for centuries and we are all still alive :)) so dip till your hearts content

The reason why I've dared ask is that when I did my training last month, it was stressed upon us not to double dip.

I've seen a video if Kim using a metal spatula and her saying why she loves them. Planning to do training with her this year too.

I would like my hygiene standards to be beyond reproach. If not double dipping is cost effective as it is, why not just not do it? I wouldn’t like the idea of another therapist in my area looking like they have higher hygiene standards than me (regardless of whether double dipping is less hygienic or not). Not double dipping will probably be an insurance requirement within a few years anyway.

Exactly what I was thinking?!? :)
