Hi geeks. Im awaiting delivery of some micas from the colour shack , and wondered if any of you that have these pigments could share some pics of the way you have used them. Any tips would be greatly received too. Any way that you have used them , with gel or acrylic. Recommendations of colours to get also, Thanks I look forward to your replies.

I will be watching this thread...I just got some pigments from the Color Shack as well. I haven't used them yet, I just got them yesterday.

I use the mica powders, I did use them over cream puff but found if you didn't get full coverage with the top coat when u wiped with d'sperse it would take the mica powder off, so be I use a colour coat that's close in colour to the mica powder so it's not as noticeable.

I do 1x base -cure
1x colour coat -cure
Then Brush in the mica powder
1xtop coat cure
D'sperse.

You only need a tad of mica powder as it goes a long way,

Here's some pictures

This one is a colour I created to match a clients request, I used a turquoise mica over asphalt - you can create different colours by using different colour coats just make sure you cover fully with a top coat;

Your welcome :D I love the mica powders you get a lovely shimmer to them, they seem to be more popular with my 50+ ages clients than anyone else but I like that you can create numerous colours with them. Xxxxx

Love the Colour Shack powders!! Barbara is so lovely - I put mentioned her on my YouTube videos and she loved it!! :)

Thanks for this thread ladies. I've just ordered mine. Just wondering can you mix in some of the additive with a clear acrylic powder and apply it that way. Sorry if this is completely wrong but I'd rather ask than just experiment x

Yes shell you can. You can mix it straight into gel too and into a clear nail polish. You only need the tiniest amount . And also gently patting it into the tacky layer of gel polish's or shellac. Let us know what colours you have got . Mine took three days. Brilliant service from Barbara. X

Hey kerry they look great. I'm going to do few more tomorrow as long as hubby keeps kiddies occupied for an hour :) you can get a colour wheel cheap and as it turns you can see what colour goes well with others and which colours mix to make others, or even just Google it. I look forward to seeing some more x Lou
