Hey Everyone,

With Excel coming up soon, I'm toying with the idea of introducing micro current/non surgical face lifts into the salon.

What machines do people use or have used? What are the companies like to deal with? What's the training like? Any thoughts much appreciated. :)

Hi i used stay young when i was at college, from what i remember it was quite a good machine, but since qualifying in 2002 i have been trained in both the silhouette dermalift and one by diana called the goddess. The Silhouette one was really good, it gave excellent results and you can use pads for lymph drainage and also get ampuoles and masks to use with it, the training was half a day in-salon. I think you can also get one by silhouette that you can use on the body. As for the goddess machine it was ok, clients where happy but it wasnt as good as the dermalift, the training was done at the venue of their choice and was about 2 hours. HTH:)

Thanks for the reply emerald.

Have requested info from loads of companies.

I thought I would have had more opinions by now but obviously micro-current isn't popular with geeks.

Oh well.

I used the Sorisa machines, found them to be great, easy to work and the instructions were well writen! I did my Sorisa training at college, the machine we had, had pre-set programmes which was great as you were 'prompted' as to wether you were doing lymph drainage movements or lifting movements etc, also you could manually programme it, if you didnt want to do the entire routine, hth's :)

Ive used Stay Young, E2000 Biotheraputic and CACI.I would rate the CACI the best out of all of them. The training i did for it was in London for between 3 days to a week depending if you are taking on face or face and body. The results i got with the CACI were really good and the machine is easy to use.

You have to go for Silhouette Dermalift I use it in my salon its brill xx

I agree cos my boss in the salon tested loads including caci before deciding upon dermalift as it gave best results:)

I use CACI and get excellent results. I found the training very good too. I have to say though, I've never used any other machine, and as I understand CACI are the most expensive. It a very popular treatment in my salon it's well worth getting it in.xx

Thanks for the replies so far ladies. I have received loads of info so trying to plough my way through it all.

Silhoutte does seem to be popular but a lot comes down as well to ongoing support from the companies.

After the initial frenzy of promoting the service to try to recoup the initial outlay, do you find the treatment is still popular with clients & clients still book in for courses. Do most return for their monthly top-up?

Hi!

Well, I work in a salon in a little village by the sea, so have a high proportion of older clients, which is great for non-surgical face lifting because they are the ones who are really interested in it, and the ones who have got the most time and money to do it!

I find that my clients are religious about their boosters! In fact some come more often! You can't keep them away! I think it's a combination of the fact that they're realy pleased with the reults and want to keep it up, and also that they generally have the money to spend anyway.

It can be hard to sell to some clients because of the cost of the initial treatment, but those who go for it really do love it!

Boosters are usually once a month, so it's worth bearing in mind that it's vital you carry on promoting the treatment and attract new clients for courses as well. I find the key is just talking about it to every client so they all know that you offer it and what it does.

Another thing we do is 'face workshop' evenings. 2 or 3 times a year we invite the clients in for a glass of wine and a demo of the treatment and offer a small discount if they book a course on the night. Clients love it! We usually book 3-4 courses out of this, and it's dead cheap to do! Couple of bottles of Tesco's plonk and a few crisps and you're away!

I did have a CACI machine years ago when I worked in a fairly young and trendy hair salon in the town centre. It was fairly popoular, but nowhere near as much as it is with the old dears in the village! That might be something to bear in mind too.

Hope that's helpful:hug: Good luck deciding!xxx

Hi read your question form 2007 asking for advice on microcurent machines. Did you go ahead with it, and if so what company did you go for. I am in the same situation I don;t know whether to go for Susan Molymeux or Silohuette. or whether to stay away from the whole idea. x

After going to Excel I fell in love with the Ultratone pro machine which does absolutely everything. Costs a fair wack but suprisingly good value compared to other high profile machines that just offer micro current.

After considerable thought I have decided against any expensive outlay at the moment. A lot of clients are all for it but saying they'll have it done & actually coming up with the dosh are two entirely different matters :).

I did want to get some software for client management as well but they also cost shed loads of money:cry:. I do have a friend though who is good on the computer so she's going to do all of that for me and set up the data base software.:)

My original thoughts for getting in something new was to excite the clients and get them spending their dosh with us on something different, but we've been really busy anyway without any extra money being spent - and I'm all for that.

I have just bought a silhouette dermalift. i have my training 2moro. im quite excited. :)

I preferred the people i was dealing with at silhouette. I found Sorisa to be very pushy! and even carlton called me back twice to see if i had decided.
