Just wondered how many applications you guys get out of a sheet of minx, I know there are two sets to a sheet but when I was ordering my last lot via phone the lady said "you are getting more than one application out of a set aren't you?". I only use minx on toes at the moment. I have tried to do this but always use the largest one and over half of it on each set so therefore unless the client has small toe nails I can only get one set out of them yet there is always a couple left over and half's of the other sizes, wouldn't it be a good idea to do refill sizes or sell them as full sheets of each size like with tips? how do you guys cut them down do you have a template or do you only use half of one for each client, so you get 4 sets out of one sheet? O did i get the wrong end of the stick and trying to be too stingy with it.

You know what?? It doesn't really matter if you throw all the unused ones away as your client has paid for ALL of them during her treatment so whatever you get out of the rest is FREE to you if your pricing is correct.

Now I'm not suggesting you do this but each sheet should be paid for at each appointment and the rest are yours to do what you want with and all paid for.

It would be a logistical nightmare to make individual sizes of each design .. there are hundreds. You can also layer many designs in two parts so that you can create larger nails.

Yes I am keeping all my "left overs" and have thought I could use them to do "Mini Minx" parties for young ladies at half my adult price (not an age I usually cover but might as well try it). :).

Cool Idea!! It's a good time to be inventive.

I had a nail tech friend here yesterday and she was telling me she teamed up with another person for childrens parties and this person taught dancing to the children which kept them occupied while my friend was doing their nails and a bit of make up etc. When she had finished, the children put on a little show and dance routine for all the parents. Apparently they LOVED it.

Yes I would be a good idea to have something else along side the minx to make it worth while from the parents point of view, I have a very good friend who is a hairdresser may talk to her about joining me she could do glitter hair up!

Save the ones that are left. If you keep saving them you will end up with a full set again. I have used some of mine for displays and just stuck them on over a tip. Or I was thinking about putting a different one on each of my nails ...just because I am crazy like that lol
Then my clients can see them all. I must take a pic ha ha xxx

I've had my delvery of minx and popits this morning, my 17 year old is very excited and wants me to order some more, i'm going to have a go when she gets home from work tonight, she can show her friends and hopefully i'll get some more clients, I'm gonna do mine and show them off too, if they work out alright i'll take some pics and post for critique. I'm off now to order some more!!!!

Are there? I thought there were only 8 sizes per hand/foot so that 5 good sizes can be found to fit. The remaining Minxes aren't enough for a new client but may come in handy eventually.

In the application method, when the tip is folded over the end of the finger/toe and then cooled ready for filing, this excess is all waste for me. I can't see how this could be effectively done differently without pre-cutting each Minx before application. As this is supposed to be a quick turnaround I can't see this being viable.

Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

I just use what is required, the only time I cut minx is to tailor it to the nail, I don't want to faffing with wee bits and bobs of minx unless it is a tiny toe nail. I don't keep the excess from any application that I have heat up, it goes in the bin. :)

What I have found is there are certainly firm favourite designs with my clients and I can end up with quite a lot of spare unused strips from these designs and of course these can be used on other clients. As Gigi has said, your client has already paid for their minx and so any leftover minx from that pack(unused I mean) is a bonus.

For me, minxing is very cost effective and my clients are just loving it. :)

Good thread ill keep reading xx
