Hi guys,

I was just wondering if there was anyone else here who had come across this, and if this is widespread.

On my Silver & Gold Lightning, French Manicure and the Red Flame Minx, I have noticed, what seems to be a line or seam mark on a few of them.

I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this, and if you had, did you use them and did they turned out ok once applied!!??

Many thanks.

Hi, i guess it is possible for the odd faulty set...i am sure i read on here of 1 person who had the same kind of thing...if these where purchased from SS i am sure that you can return them for a replacement.

Hi Bagpuss,

I bought them from Ellisons (will have to open a S2 or CND Account), and sent them back to them today, and await for their response, as they said they hadn't heard of it before, and they may have to refer it to Creative and await their response before sending me a replacement, especially if all their stock is the same and damaged.

I did ring the other store of where I got extra supplies and they confirmed they had the same problem once they had looked closely.

I just hope there is some good stock somewhere that I can get sent back to me asap, as I have clients booked in for Minx next Friday lol!

Have never seen this before. They could have been damaged (creased) in the post? I would think with the heat you have to use to put Minx on ,that the crease would smooth out perhaps?
If that is not the problem and there is a fault phone your supplier, they will sort it.
hth

Mmmm, not sure why they would have to refer to Creative...Minx isn't a Creative product.

I am pretty sure that SS distribute to Ellison's and so its SS they would refer too...(i think)....anyways.........If you opened a SS account tomorrow you should be all set for ordering your Minx and have it here by next Fri easy..:)

Hi Mrs O,

I actually went to the store in person to buy extra Minx, even the ones in the kit (which was sent to me) had this line running through them. In total it was 6 packs, 2 silver, 2 gold, 1 french, and 1 red/silver flame. The blue lightning was ok, so were many other patterns and designs I had either sent to me (in a big box) or bought in store.

It was just strange, as I wasn't sure if anyone else had come across it, and if they did, did it infact look as bad as I have thought it may turn out once applied. Its a fair few packs to try out, especially if the lines are still there once applied lol!

Maybe they have just had a printer problem, or something, or something else has happened to them enroute to store!!??

Thanks Angie,

I shall be chasing it up tomorrow. Need to open an account with them anyway as I would like a few of the new designs etc lol xx

Hiya Smurfette
well if you collected them yourself,we cannot blame the postal service!

It sounds like a bad cut or batch,i really dont know.
The heat may smooth out the issue.
I would try that anyway as you are stuck for time ,and if you dont get new stock for Fri .
I think you said your supplier was Ellisons, and that you contacted them?
I bet you get a quick response as Minx has been perfect quality control wise to date.
Why dont you contact Sweet Squared who distribute Creative(CND) and Minx as they know everything about this Product or pm Sam or Samantha, or Geeg as they will be much more able to tell you what to do ?

Yes I have come across this. I also have had problems with some of the silver and gold not being near as "chrome-like" and smooth than others. I called, discussed this with them and complained about it. They simply said it was normal for them to be different and that their product is not consistent. Frustrating for sure. I just don't bring it up to a customer, if they have a problem I fix it if I can by using a different sheet. For something as expensive as Minx, you would think their quality control would be incredibly important. I'm hoping it picks up in the summer, I've spent tons on Minx but it seems the fad is dying down.

I have had one or two that have had this so called defect and I've just used them and no one has noticed once applied. I would try and see for yourself.

The quality of Minx is excellent and complaints are very few ... their popularity just grows and grows and technicians are making money with them (which is the most important thing). :green:

I to have had this, I spoke to SS returned them and they replaced them without any question and all within 48hrs. Excellent service.

Hi,

I have sent them back now, and hope for some replacements as soon as. With Minx being so much more expensive than polish, I really did not want to take a chance with them not looking right once applied, then not being able to return them once used.

Seeing as it had affected 6 of my sheets in 4 different designs, I though that it was a lot of money to just see if they look alright once applied, and lose out on in case they didn't.

I just hope that it was just a faulty batch due to some machine glitch or something and that it is all sorted now :)

What do you mean that Minx is more expensive than

polish? To whom-the consumer?
It is a Stand alone service.
Are you charging the same price for polish and Minx?
Yes its costing you a little bit more to do it but you surely must be charging more?
Minx lasts forever on toes-and fingers- at least a week(correct me if i am wrong)
Sorry annoyed now, polish is lovely, but chips,

Minx has all the fancy arty designs.,fashionable, and I for one could not do the Beyonce,Lady Gaga,Fergie and oodles of other stars that wear Minx designs require
.Well- i dont have, to have that skill ,MINX does it for me!!

I apologise for jumping into this post but I was quite surprised by the last repsonse from Mrs O!! I havent branched out into Minx, I gather from the posts on here that it is a good product (although with flaws, hence this post!!) but I cannot see how people will pay more than normal rates for nail art for something that only lasts a week??!! I appreciate it appears to be very nice and so forth, but longevity of only a week?? I know I'm going to get shot down now but I SERIOUSLY want to know the FULL attraction before I invest anything into it!! :wink2: Am I missing something?:?:

I have noticed this fault line too.

I have had it on the gold & Silver and a number of others.

One was quite noticable, so I rang and then returned it to Sweet Squared & they replaced it very quickly.

The other I used, I do mostly toes, so they are not that noticable once on - people do not get a close up look at the toes once on, we are really the olny people that get that close iykwim!

Minx is an excellent product. Minx are obviously machine made and anything machine made can have the odd flaw .. such is life. Flawed goods will of course be replaced (every Minx cannot be checked by eye so many are sold).

Minx now know about the problem and are correcting it of course.

As to the lasting ability of Minx ... I only guarantee a short life on fingernails NOT BECAUSE OF THE MINX ... but because of what clients do to the Minx on their nails. Minx would last as long on fingers as on nails if clients took the same care of their fingers as their toes. Minx lasts 2 weeks on my fingernails no problem and I give them some workout ... but I also look after them.
