Does anyone know how much the training is for Minx, am assuming it's a one day course and I would need to take a model?

Are you finding it very popular, I am offering gel pedicures with nail art so wondered if there was a place for minx too in the salon or not?

Thanks in advance

Tbh, Minx doesn't need a full days training. I don't know how long the course is from S2, but I just bought Minx and got on with it!!

I find it very popular and nicely profitable. Once clients start wearing Minx they don't go back to anything else......

Get yourself some, get a heat source and give it a go - what have you got to lose?

This may sound like a stupid question but what do you mean by "heat source" I thought they were cured under a uv lamp, is this what you mean?

I have just started a new salon a few weeks ago. Since I have started offering and wearing Minx myself a week ago people are constantly stopping me in the street/shops commenting on my nails, wondering what it is and where to get it. I have had quite a few new clients through it and know lots more want to come. Even my local bank manager stopped in the bank a few days ago so I would show my toes to her friend. Problem was I was going through the drive through and had to show my foot through my car window.:D How is that for marketing?

You need a heat lamp to adhere the Minx properly. In terms of training I just bought my kit of Minx, watched the video and just did. Had a couple of questions regarding sealing with gel or polish on here and had a go myself. If only everything was as easy to learn as Minx.

I offer french / colour gel on toes and freehand nail art in the salon so I kind of dragged my heels to my distributor because I thought it would just be another fad.....I am shocked at how popular it has been so far. Well worth investing in. Wish I'd done it before now. Good luck with it. x

Defo do the minx, there is a video link somewhere on here and also a tutorial, on how to apply them you need a 150 wat infared lamp about 25 pounds from online chemists, prep same as enhancements and off you go its brill, and lasts forever clients love them becuse they can remove them safley themselves so quick and easy. Love to do them too xxx

i just looked up minx. i want!

Nope not a uv lamp, I use an infra-red lamp (it gives off heat). You can use a hairdryer but I don't think that looks professional enough in a salon environment.......

lol!!:D Think I need to be investing in some Minx, the only thing that was putting me off is that it only lasts about a week on your finger nails but if this is explained to the Client I suppose its ok.

hi
the traing with creative was invaluable as you get to ask all the little questions that pop into your head whilst having a go!!
It was a 2 hour session and julia who trained me has been fantastic!!
It was cheap as well and worked out free but you will need to check with your own cnd academy as to price as not sure if it varies!!
So glad i did it and not just cracked on with it.
Good luck with it though

just had minx done, thought id try before i buy and they lasted less than 2 days, really wasnt impressed, not sure if it was me or the salon but they were peeling off within hours.

there was no prep done, just stuck them on and away i went, i did have hand cream to rub in after and it was an awful smell

any suggestions as minx seems to be the latest craze and i really want in

not sure what to do

I trialed Minx on the stylists in our salon before I started offering to paying customers. On the stylist it lasted a week but she had to gently file the edges after a few days. Toes is a different matter - I've had mine on for almost 4 weeks now and they look like brand new. I always tell my customers that fingers are for special occasions not to expect them to stay past 5-7 days as rubbing and touching will make them come off. And that's exactly what people do as they feel so nice. This way they are not disappointed as the price tag isn't exactly small. As with everything you have to have decent prep because if they touch the skin they will be off very quickly. If you are nervous why not get a trial pack and use a hair dryer on family and friends and if you like it go all the way and get the whole kit. I love Minx is doing my new business a world of good. All my Minx clients are raving how many comments they've had on their nails. I've only launched them officially this last week and have had 5 Minxes in already!
