Hi there, just a thought why dont you just buy a few minx patterns and use your dest lamp (thats what I do) and buy a glass file. Aslong as minx has a heat source it will be fine, and that way you can pick your own patterns. xxx

Problem isn't the kits, its the freaking heat lamps. Daylight co. hasn't been able to keep up with the Minx demand since we started :(

You could always order the Minx like they say and use a heat source until the lamps are in stock, You will definately need to get the lamp though for it to be done as it should be.

Thanks peeps suppose i could always do that i feel i wont be as confident without the full kit coz i havent seen it done yet no one around my area does it!! So how long do you heat it up for i really dont understand this minx lark lol!!!!
Thanks for your help tho x

How long will it take to recieve my kit from sweet squared? do you have any idea? :)

I think this is a question you should be asking ss. I have found any delivery from them to be very prompt.
Re the selling out, goes to show how popular they are :green:

I Think all that minx needs is a heat source, I have used the top of my hob the other day, and it was fine (as it should be lol ). Yes the lamp looks good and that when in a shop, but it is not an essential????

Well I too went to order it today after trying hard to have it done myself and getting nowhere! So now I ring up to buy it and yup out of stock! There back in monday though so the girl said and shes calling me back then. Not too long to wait.

I have a Daylight lamp which uses Daylight bulbs i bought for x-stitching many moons ago. Will this be a good enough heat source to use for Minx? It does get very hot and also very bright.

Well at least its been heard from those in the know what the problem is...Thanks GMG

Ideally you would use the infra red lamp....but as long as Minx is heated up then it should work....even with a hairdryer...:)

I use my table lamp and this works fine, minx does not need to be hot, just warmed up so its soft and flexible and its heat activated adhesive can work (something like this lol) The minx lamp will not make you do better minx, I think by watching tutorials and getting a good technique is more imprortant. I personally just purchased 2 sheets of minx bought a heavy glass file and a rubber ended cuticle pusher from boots and went for it, after watching lots of tutorials,,it's a great way to learn. I love minx I have silver lightening on my fingers only placed on the free edge as you would with white powder, and then overlayed with L&P. xxx

I know it is professional, but I've heard others say they either use a blower dryer, small one, or a lizard light. Just some ideas.

Minx needs heat ... whatever source you get it from is up to you ... no one has ever said you need to have one particular lamp. We do know that the lamp we have chosen to sell with the Minx Maxi and Mini kits is an excellent one and is all part of the package and performs to the best standard and looks totally professional.

However if you prefer to use 'cherry picked' products then that is your choice.
I prefer a total branded look so I can charge a premium price and all looks high end. Minx is a special service and in my opinion technicians should keep it all looking as special and high end as it is. If it costs you a little more to do so ... what does it matter if you are getting more for the service.

So how does that work then, knowing the bond needed for L&P???

I have only ever done this on myself, and placed on the tip zone 1. I have had no lifting (been on for over week) I have a girl who is having the metalic cheetah on her fingers just tips this week, I have informed that she might experience slight lifting at the free edge, and this is her choice, I can get full set of toes and tips out of one sheet. hth xxx
