Hi guys

Ive done my first three models today and really unhappy :-( They all had really wide nails and really straigh cuticle areas and they went out like spades (natural nails).

I tried cutting the minx but to be honest it didnt look right and didnt seem to fit properly :-(

also, just had a question from a friend who asked if minx is ok in the swimming pool as shes a swimming teacher?

Minx is fine in swimming pools, the bath. shower anything like that.

You can alter the look of nails like the ones you describe by placing the MInx down the centre of the nail and leaving a small free margin .. not going all the way to the sidewalls. You can make wide nails look quite sleek ... it's all illusion.

This is why I love this site, I learn something new everytime I come here.
Thanks Gigi xx

You're welcome!!

Neither does one normally have to trim or cut minx to fit the cuticle line .. just place the Minx a touch lower to leave a teeny free margin at the cuticle .. for just like enhancements, if you touch the skin with Minx you will have a lifting problem there.

For extra extra wide nails you can always apply a thin piece of Minx down each side of the nail first to fill in where the gaps will be, and then the Minx down the middle of the nail to overlap .. works a treat especially on toes.

brill I will try that.

I tried this when I miss-sized my big toe but I did the strip last which I think was wrong as it came off a few hours later where it obviously hadn't adhered properly.

one more question, do you use the crystal file like a saw as when i used it like a normal file it wasnt cutting the minx?

Is there a aftercare leaflet anywhere which i can use to give to my clients?

Use the glass file in one direction and with enough force so that it cuts right through the Minx.

Ring your supplier for aftercare advice. Where are you buying your Minx from?

Make sure you give your file a good wash and scrub with a nail brush after a set. The adhesive from the Minx gets into it and it doesn't file as well until it is cleaned.

I bought a minx kit at the Irish Beauty Show on Sunday and i cant wait to try it out tonight.....:D

I bought from sweet square and was suprised at the lack of instructions and aftercare advice etc, just a lamp the minx and thats it?

If it was your first order for Minx and you had told them that, then a step by step application would have been sent to you. Naturally they don't send it with every order.

Other than to leave them alone then there really is no after care advise except for how to remove them. All that information is right here on the Geek site but had you asked, it would have been sent to you. If you give them a quick call they will send out to you tomorrow.

There is also a class for Minx which tells you all these things and all the useful hints you will need to use them well. PLUS the Minx social group here on the site for asking questions and sharing ideas. Information is right here if you need it.
